Mass Shooting in Orlando

Howdy,
I'm not a good person. I definitely stopped attending churches over the years although I was confirmed in several religions and studied the teaching emphatically. I do know that murder is wrong.

But the underlying cause of hatred (Aoi) is exactly what you are demonstrating here, while trying to reason against it.

Aoi continues to point out about the teachings of Christ being in the (New Testament and away from Judaism) - and here are the two most important in the New Testament:

John 13:34
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven."

In other words, if you are a true Christian, and are following the teachings of Christ - you love all persons (without regard for their choices or beliefs); and you forgive whatever they have done to you. Any "recourse, revenge, anger, or animosity" in any form is unchristian.

(It IS "human", Aoi - it's who we are - don't worry Aoi, I'm no better than you... I'm probably worse. But it's unchristian.)

That's why his last words are so poignant, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." He was saying, "Even though I've taught them, left them a guide, left them teachers - they're going to get it wrong."

So, you have it wrong. But, in part you're correct - Muslims have their teaching wrong also. And Jews, and most every religion for the history of religions perverts their instruction to fit a cause.

Because its impossible for individuals to take sane individual responsibility for their actions without claiming or justifying some support from God (or another person's "teaching"). They MUST do that,,, they MUST use these references.

Imagine if a person with ANY sanity stood in front of a mirror, and said into a camera - "Hey world, I'm doing this just because I want to... I just want to kill a bunch of people for no reason. I'm a sociopathic asshole and I know I'll die, get shot, or at best get caught and throw my life away in jail - and I'm ok with that." Then they know they are a useless piece of hatred and crazy. But if they can say "I'm justified because my God (teachings, bible, Quran, whatever) said - it's cool." then they are mentally sloughing off responsibility.

All Muslims are not bad, all Christians are not good. All of any group, race, religion, height, sex, or breakfast cereal choice are not good - and all are not bad.

But, a religion used as justification for any violence, prejudice, or to hurt others is the worst form of that representation in all men. It is people, at their very worst.

Guns are fine; because a gun with no justification or impetus to use it is a worthless hunk of metal just laying around.

So the real culprit is all organized religion. (Not religion, belief, spirituality, Muslim or Christian or whatever in and of itself). "Organized religion"; which should be banned world wide.

Because Jesus did get one thing wrong. Wherever "two or more are gather in his (or any God's) name..." There isn't love. There is an agenda to change others, by persuasion - or by force.

I can hear your reply already, "You jerk - if EVERYONE was Christian, then there wouldn't be this terrorist acts by Muslims!". (You're right - and that's just what the Muslims say). Originally Posted by Scribe

I haven't read this entire thread. I just have to vent my disbelief at the white house's rhetoric yesterday trying to label this as a hate crime instead of terrorism. Absolutely fucking absurd. Originally Posted by THN

Of course ISIS is going to take credit....this is a freebie for them. Supposedly, he made 911 calls referencing them but maybe he hates himself because he is gay...little diversion to his twisted sad tale.
ISIS doesn't roll with fruitcakes like him. They behead guys like him....scoping is one thing, hanging out and joining is another...
If he was gay and ashamed then it isn't a hate crime either. It's just a sad, despicable crime by a sad despicable person. I realize politicizing it is par for the course these days but that doesn't make it okay. Maybe I'm just growing tired of the spin altogether.

I also agree with most of what Scribe said. However, I don't believe Jesus was wrong about coming together. Corruption is rampant in every facet of society. Unfortunately, the church is not exempt from that reality. But MANY good things are also done by Christians coming together all over the world. I can think of about a dozen or so missions people I know have gone on to help build homes, hospitals, deliver goods and services in the past year. All Christians. All coming together with funds raised in the private sector to help others without any expectation of return.

I really thought this horrible act of terrorism against a typically liberal group of people would have a uniting effect that we could all stand together against.

Imagine my disappointment today as I watch what could have been a very bipartisan sentiment against terrorism devolve into gun control and hate crime speeches.

Smfh at the state of politics in America. What a goddamned clusterfuck. Originally Posted by THN

- Second, you're 100% correct. There's nothing wrong with people coming together for "goodness"... To me, I'm always amazed at the generosity that immediately follows a tragedy like an earthquake, or a flood. The capacity for good people to get together and help when needed.

...but, Muslims do that stuff too. (Good Muslims) and so do good Mormons, Taoists, Buddhists & Episcopalians (only they have a scotch while doing it), etc...

My issue with organized religion is (bad, sick, etc.) "leaders" are usually a catalyst for MAJOR atrocities. (And it's specifically Religion where this is dangerous, here's why

Take any person who has not been religiously indoctrinated by parents, leaders, teachers, etc... and give them any religious text and have them read it - their conclusion? "Huh, interesting history." (and that's it - no murder, no bombing.)

It takes influence and impregnation of directed doctrine to create radicals. People who twist and turn some chosen passage of text, to cement pain points and create hatred. That's what bad leaders of "Organized Religion" do... Also OTHER groups.

(Just happens that in the history of man, though... MOST battles are over resources and justified as a violent action due to someone's Religion. And for some reason - people will question their thinking on government directives much more quickly then they will question insane direction from their chosen religious leader - think Jonestown if you forgot.)

It was Bertrand Russell who got this right (at least where I read it..). He said:

Passive acceptance of the teacher's wisdom is easy to most boys and girls. It involves no effort of independent thought, and seems rational because the teacher knows more than his pupils; it is moreover the way to win the favor of the teacher unless he is a very exceptional man. Yet the habit of passive acceptance is a disastrous one in later life. It causes man to seek and to accept a leader, and to accept as a leader whoever is established in that position.

This unfortunately carries over to almost everything in life. . Remove all atrocities caused by some religious fermentation from man's history - and you've basically got a lot of domestic disputes.

Kay had it right in Men In Black:

Kay: A person is smart. People (meaning, "when you get them together in a group")are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.

Hence my point. You get a group of people together, especially under the guise that "they are doing the work of God" (good or bad)... and all it takes if for some religious leader to say "God told me - Kill everyone who eats pop-tarts!'

Next thing you know.... Pop-Tart Wars. So I stick by my view - eliminate all organized religions in the world (not spirituality, beliefs, books... just no churches and no church organizations), and we eliminate this Orland-esk type happenings. You're left with a bunch of lone wackos like the dude at Love Field the other day.

(again, domestic... see?)

FOOTNOTE: I'm part American Indian - anyone wanna discuss that Christian's never committed atrocities or genocide in trying to erase a group of people from the planet in the last 200 years and justified it with religion?
I think we will have to discus this over a good bottle of wine sometime, Scribe.

wait, racism is rearing it's ugly head because of idiots like you that worship the orangutan who says "my african american"....I mean why doesnt he just come out and say my nigger? I thought he was all about being anti PC? why not just say what his core constituents want to hear? Originally Posted by darkwader

And not being politically correct doesn't mean you just say things for the sake of saying things. It means you say things that need to be said, despite it going against the grain. You're a special kind of retard, aren't you, if you believe saying nigger is somehow his idea of not PC.

rest of your fascisious (sic) talking points taken from shrill right wing sites don't even deserve a response. you sound like one of those over compensating minorities that try extra hard to fit in. grow up.
Saying "Right wing rhetoric" isn't an argument. Present a better idea or shut the fuck up. You clearly don't understand the concept of a debate. Try again. Watch what's going on in San Jose. Black Lives Matter. Islamic terrorists. Shit economy. Shit Obamacare. These are issues that all arose or grew heavily during the current administration. Stop saying "FOX NEWS! RIGHT WIIING!" and actually present a counter opinion, loser.

regarding your hero trump, here's something that ken burns said vis-a-vis mr cheetos...you think a guy that made the greatest documentary on american politics knows a bit more than the right wing sites you get your info from.
Greatest documentary based on whose opinion? LOL. So, I'm supposed to be impressed with someone else whose values I don't even know? PATHETIC.

I'll leave you with this, you can continue to spew your under-educated, easily-swayed-by-scaremongering-demagoguery bullshit:
Scare-mongering has nothing to do with the debt. Or the economy. Or the shit healthcare. Or the transgender crap. Or Obamacare. You are the typical liberal moron, unaware of what's going on and completely focused on your feelings. Pathetic. I don't care about your feelings.

For 216 years, our elections, though bitterly contested, have featured the philosophies and character of candidates who were clearly qualified.
Obama is not qualified. He is the worst President, ever. He was a 2 term Senator without any major accomplishments. And he is a racist piece of shit. And yes, I did use that, because that's what he is. Unlike you, who has to throw it around based on your inability to come up with an argument.

That is not the case this year. One is glaringly not qualified.
You're right. Hillary isn't qualified.

So before you do anything with your well-earned degree, you must do everything you can to defeat the retrograde forces that have invaded our democratic process, divided our house, to fight against, no matter your political persuasion, the dictatorial tendencies of the candidate with zero experience in the much maligned but subtle art of governance; who is against lots of things, but doesn’t seem to be for anything, offering only bombastic and contradictory promises, and terrifying Orwellian statements; a person who easily lies, creating an environment where the truth doesn’t seem to matter; who has never demonstrated any interest in anyone or anything but himself and his own enrichment; who insults veterans,
So, Obama.

threatens a free press,
You mean the press that creates narratives and sets out fake stories? That press? Good. The press has one job : Report the news. They don't get to tell a story and demonize people. Look what happened with Telemundo and Katie Couric recently. That's not press. That is media manipulation. And only idiots like you are always falling for it.

mocks the handicapped
,

I don't care if he throws handicapped children in catapults. If he can secure our borders, drop regulations and actually get something done, it's fine. Besides, that handicapped fuckhead that Trump insulted? he went back on his own article to try and hide the truth. But you didn't know that, did you, libtard?

denigrates women
Right, because people are so in love with Rosie O Donnel's fat ass.

immigrants and all Muslims
Cite. Now.

; a man who took more than a day to remember to disavow a supporter who advocates white supremacy and the Ku Klux Klan
;

Oh, right. You mean the multiple times he disavowed them fclearly didn't matter. Not to mention, Duke didn't even endorse him. And who the fuck cares? Really? Stop your virtue signaling.

an infantile, bullying man who, depending on his mood, is willing to discard old and established alliances, treaties and long-standing relationships.
Yeah, because, you know, being a part of NATO and being forced to defend countries who don't deserve it is such a great thing, right? These "long-standing relationships" don't mean shit to the American people. Get that through your head.

I feel genuine sorrow for the understandably scared and – they feel – powerless people who have flocked to his campaign in the mistaken belief that – as often happens on TV – a wand can be waved and every complicated problem can be solved with the simplest of solutions.
Nobody said it would be easy. But a good step is to acknowledge that we have a problem. Obama is too much of a pussy to admit it. Clinton has to coast off of Obama's complete lack of accomplishments and her husbands to even have a stance. Yeah. Trump supporters actually listen and understand. Anyone voting Hillary is a stupid moron who has to focus on identity politics and your shit feelings. I don't know how old you are, but grow the fuck up.

They can’t. It is a political Ponzi scheme. And asking this man to assume the highest office in the land would be like asking a newly minted car driver to fly a 747.
Obama is already running the Ponzi scheme. Trump removes it.

Your entire post was basically full of shit.
