Is this Sandbox too political?

Tangents and hijacking are common to most forms of two-way discussions. It doesn't happen in every thread. Isn't always a bad thing.

To get this back on track, when it involves political rancor, blatant distortions and trolling it goes in very wild directions, enflames passions that makes it more difficult to get back to the point AND typically furthers the gap rather than bridge it.

There's more posturing and less actual discussion. Which drags on the culture.

That's not how I would see equilibrium. Still work to be done. Progress? Sure. Sustainable? We'll see. Can we or will we draw in more folks for convos? Is it replicatable?

Sustainable cultural shifts don't just happen overnight. And as we've seen in this thread, resistance to change is high.

Look at how many clicks we've generated just from having a handful of people disagree with and mock my viewpoint. Imagine how many more we can generate with a greater variety of content.

I think this is nothing but a long winded diatribe trying to generate something other than Conservative politics in this forum.

All the arguments are against the vast majority of threads that favor one political side of the argument, and, make a sly but very visible attempt to generate the opposite.

I mean, tea, yeah, tea, how many people on these boards are hard core Tea-o-phytes, I mean, I'm sure we got a few Manbun mongers, metrosexuals who feel the need to find some strange, but they have to be few and far between.

I do know that the hard core discussion of tea in the forum will draw some hits......(eyes rolling).

Further, its also appearing to appease the providers who have chimed in on this thread.

If I wanted to be civilized, I wouldn't be at eccie in the first place, as, it is a bit of counter counter culture, as well as a morally corrupt and illegal activity we are discussing.

The more I read this thread, the more I can see its more about lowering our testosterone, and becoming softer and gentler.
