The thread for people who don't write reviews and those who wish to discuss them

I recently wrote a review... it was absolutely honest and accurate... the event did indeed take place on October 17th. I log on to look at the review... I have two comments... both stating my review was probably not valid to put it nicely.

No wonder guys don't write reviews...

Probably isn't worth getting flamed over.
Hey do me and everyone else a favor. Why don't you..... Originally Posted by pfmtony

Some guys will flame you just to see how far they can push that envelope, doing reviews or not. Just don't respond to them, I doubt they will go away or discontinue their ways, but it does make them seethe when they do not get the gratification they are seeking.

Grow some testicles, fellas, and try not to be so sensitive.
It does seem more and more like two of the hobbyist posters in this thread are likely gals (not guys) despite the handles and dialogue. Do I care which ones? Nope, not really... but it sure seems that way.

I may go ahead and do a review just for the hell of it. But don't expect more.

Just ask a mod how to do it and forget about it.

. Tony just reminded me of that aspect again for this thread. Him bringing up a PM he sent to me isn't a very cool thing in eccie world (that in itself is sucky). Originally Posted by SD2011

But in reality, reading the random musings in this thread, the Mod refereeing and all the rest, I have a message, not directed at anyone, but at this thread on it's face (pun intended).

I don't care what everybody else says about you SD, your avatar has a nice ass!
Here's the rest of it. I just find it/her hot.

SD, regarding #135, did you ever bring up the issue with the owners of this site? I'd be curious of their position on the matter.
No, I don't even know who the owners are and respect their privacy. I like this site and just looked at ways to mitigate the potential risk to all of us. I guess the mods are the window back to them. Maybe they discuss those things or not? I'm sure there's a better workaround for the review fee issue and a few other site directed risk items that would better protect the members/providers/owners here.

I was lucky back in July when I first broached it and Gina was very forthright and good to talk to (I like her and her approach to things). While in Canada, they have certain protections (but even those are limited), and here in our country we have no such thing. So we are fair game for RICO driven actions regarding the hobby and revenue associated with it. Any enforcement action would most likely seek a wide ranging (national) canvassing process that doesn't require warrants for individuals, but just a collective staggered one against what would be portrayed as an organized activity (platform), following that, they can do a rollup (individuals) if they want to make a big media splash. I can only imagine the headline.

While it is a potential, I don't know that any agency or zealot (DA) is out to do that so this is only a theoretical view. Again, I didn't want to create a panic/paranoia as I don't think that is helpful or needed now, I only wanted to be realistic about the risk profile and give the community and owners/mods some future things to consider (modifying/adjusting/whatever).
