I say the younger the better for a SB, as long as she's of legal age. The younger the girl, the fewer bad habits she'll have, generally, and the more willing she'll be to take instruction. Also, don't forget that while rates may be higher here so are the expenses. $2,000 per month gets you a studio apartment in the city. What does same amount of rent get you in DFW? I am pretty sure you can get more than 400 sq feet of space for that money.
