Covid and now all the cities are burning down from riots

Ehh.. in the bakers case... they admitted to doing a cake for a "dog wedding".. and in my minds eye-- its a bit hypocritical to refuse to make a cake for a gay wedding citing "religion"... yet making cakes for 2nd marriages, etc. Still a believer that a person in business ought to have the right to make those decisions for themselves but.... we also need to figure out the line where discrimination ends and personal rights begin. I mean... otherwise we're looking at having restaurants refuse to serve people of color due to personal beliefs. Its a strange rabbit hole, honestly. Originally Posted by Grace Preston

If you are the owner of an establishment, I think you should be allowed to turn down customers at your own discretion. If a restaurant refuses to serve certain races, they'll probably go out of business because customers don't want to associate with racists. Their call.

I guess what I mean when I talk about business vs. government... is that when you spent 30 years in business, you aren't prepared for the microscope you tend to find yourself in when you enter the political arena. I don't even think Trump was prepared for it-- and I honestly feel really bad for Melania-- she gets a lot of ire that she's done nothing to deserve.
Yes, well, that's what politics is. It's basically WWE with old white men and women. And we're the ones footing the bill. So, it's a shit deal for us, regardless of sides. Once you get over your idealogues, you realize how stupid it all is. But, these days, it's much harder to respect the Democrats after they can't even bring themselves to basic decency such as allowing people to run businesses, condemning violence, and allowing PC culture to go on.

I'm for full legalization of marijuana under the premise that it honestly isn't any worse than anything you'll find at the liquor store. While I know that's not a glowing endorsement... if anything, habitual use does far less physical harm than long term habitual use of alcohol. Sin tax it like you do all other vices and enjoy the money rolling in. Also-- legalization on the federal level would allow those who run dispensaries in legal states to have the same tax and banking benefits that every other business is afforded. As long as its illegal on the federal level, they don't have access to business banking at most institutions.. and they don't get the same business tax breaks that every other brick and mortar store gets.
I dunno. My mind isn't completely against it, if I can see the science behind it. True, certain alcohol is much worse than weed, but weed also isn't without its downsides as well. I guess if there were to be some form of legalization, it would have to be the less potent versions.

I’m going to predict that there will be a vaccine by September. The vaccine will not work 100% but that is not the point. The point is a vaccine will make it to market so trump gets gets a bump in votes.

Some people will get the vaccine but still get corona, get socks and Some will die. But it won’t hit the news until after election. They will blame it on a bad batch.
I think you're right about the vaccine thing Dallasfan.

Exception might be if Trump drops out at the last minute. Trump will not drop out now cuz he could not stand the humiliation of pence being the next president but he might drop out late enough that it would ensure a Democrat would win and no Republican would replace him....

LOL. Stupid liberals never learn... I guess that's why they keep wanting to try socialism so bad. They haven't figured out why it doesn't work yet.

I always appreciate the people who left a socialist/communist country because it was so bad and want to come here and turn the US into what they just came from.

There you go. I guess that fake vaccine will come from moderna. Company has never produced a working vaccine.

Who wants to be the first in line to take it. Lol.

Trump isn't winning this year I'm sorry. He's lost the independent vote and is doubling down on his base. Those people can only vote once. Lots of people were willing to give Trump a chance in 2016 and voted for him or, more likely, just didn't vote because they didn't like Hillary either. No one likes Biden either but he's moderate enough to pull almost all the independent and plenty of the right, too.

The problem we have in this country is it is socialism for the rich and corporations, capitalism for the poor and middle class. Privatized gains and socialized losses. Capitalism is great if we let it happen naturally instead of bailing out companies or printing trillions of dollars. I hope you enjoyed that 1200 check from the trillions we printed out of thin air.
The way Trump is posturing lately is what makes me wonder if he will drop out. It is not like he is trying to win by commuting Stone's term before the election or by cozying up so much to the white nationalist side of things lately. Guess we'll see.

The thing about nominally communist countries like Vietnam and China is that in practise they are more capitalistic than the US these days. I have known people from these countries with a soft spot for communism but they were also hell bent on getting rich.

As far as the vaccine I'll be first. I'd rather let my immune system take a crack at a novel immitation virus than a novel live one. Covid-19 is not just like the flu. Attacks the heart, brain, and other vital organs in addition to the lungs at least with some people.

If you're told by the police or anyone that you need to move and you don't, you're no longer peaceful protesting. Also, the Tulsa rally was pretty impressive, ya know, being in the middle of a pandemic and all. That's 5999 more people that dumbass Biden can come up with.

Lol, Trump's going to win. Thanks to the Democrats hilariously shooting their own foot, Trump will win basically by default alone. Hillary had a better chance of winning than Biden did. At least she didn't have dimentia.

He's lost the independent vote and is doubling down on his base.
He has a stronger appeal towards the independent base. He led the strongest economy in the literal history of the US. He lowered taxes and he created more jobs. So, yeah. Those are pretty good selling points towards the independent voters. Also, his response to Covid was based purely on experts, so you can't exactly blame him for that, either. Oh, and ya, China's fault. Tell me how he lost the independent vote again? I'm curious how you came up with that.

Those people can only vote once.
And how many people are Joe winning over to even get that one vote? He can't pick a side, he's borrowing policies from Trump, he literally admitted to corruption, he's been in office for half a century and has nothing to show for his accomplishments, he can't form basic sentences and he's such a coward that he can't even decry issues that are objectively wrong, like tearing down statues, attacking the police and even taking steps to prevent covid at the beginning. Joe Biden has absolutely nothing in the tank beyond "I'm not Trump and that's reason enough."

Lots of people were willing to give Trump a chance in 2016 and voted for him or, more likely, just didn't vote because they didn't like Hillary either.
Biden is massively more disliked than Hillary. At least Hillary had the entire "I'm the first woman POTUS" thing going for her.. or "I'm gonna be Obama 3!" To put things into perspective, Obama, the guy who he worked for, didn't endorse him until he was the last guy left in the primaries. That's how much even Obama hated him. And oh yeah, that entire "If you don't vote for me, you ain't black" thing? Way to court the black vote, dumbass Biden!

If you don't think Trump is going to throw all of that plus the kitchen sink at dementia Joe, you really need to watch more than stupid comedians.

No one likes Biden either but he's moderate enough to pull almost all the independent and plenty of the right, too.
How exactly is he moderate? He's siding with the far left with all the black pandering. He can't even say "America is a good country." He can't even say that burning down cities is wrong. These are issues that less-left, right, and center can all agree on. And he can't even do that. How the fuck is he going to win people on the right? By not being Trump? Yeah, solid strategy, expect the part where Biden has verified corruption in his policies.

To whom are you referring? I can't think of any public figure who falls in that category
Omar, Rashida Talib.

Yeah, lobbyists and special interests suck. I wonder how much richer Jeff Bezos got through this pandemic.

Oh, and that 1200 dollars was bullshit. It would be nice if peope had their FUCKING JOBS BACK.

I think the biggest problem w Trump is he only allows YES men around him. That comes from being a rich kid all his life I guess. He leans one way and hears cheers from the maga crowd and his advisors say nothing to pull him back to reality.
He's been listening to Fauci and the experts for the past 3 months and we lost the fucking economy because of that. Tell me how that's a yes-man thing when the economy was his greatest accomplishment?
