Some interesting points brought up on CNN last night during the election returns. In 1988 GHW Bush won 58% of the white vote and won easily. In 2012, Romney won 58% of the white vote and got trounced. Trump has not exactly endeared himself with the Hispanic and black voters and will need to focus on doing so.

Second point made -- the key battleground states in 2016 are supposed to be Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania and if Trump is to win he must move some of those 4 states from Blue to Red. Unlikely that California or New York will go Republican. Possibly Florida will go Republican, but doubtful. Other states are pretty predictable or too small to make a difference. you do realize that there could be as many as FOUR candidates by the end of the conventions?

why? because the Republican conservatives could very well mount an independent conservative to run. and given the unlimited PAC money that they can pump into the election, that's not so hard to do. likewise, Bernie Sanders, who has already shown he has a large support base, could easily mount an independent campaign. so, that would be an unprecedented in modern times, FOUR candidates running for President.
