the riots and violence

If you really want to know what a police officer goes thru every day or every night.....go to your nearest sub-station and request permission to ride along with an officer during a day shift or even better....a night shift.
Your views may change a little.

People forget that the police never get calls to have milk and cookies. They see the bad side of our community every day. Does that make them a little cold to some people? yes

One thing about it....they will never run out of customers.

No sir they won’t....which is why I’m ok with certain reforms but not defunding or dismantling.....
I agree 100%

Police work is not hard. The majority of the time, about 3 to 4 hours a day is spent processing, documenting and writing up paper work.

The occupation of being a police officer is not listed on the top 20 most dangerous jobs in the world.

Patrol officers respond to about an average of 3 calls for service per day.

The biggest killer of cops are themselves by way of vehicle accidents.

What you see on tv, cops chasing suspects on car or foot, SWAT situations, homicides, does not happen daily.

Facts y'all.
Soldier boy you always say "facts". I don't see the same facts as you. You ever ride in a patrol car all night? I think the only facts you have are what you dream up

No, what you describe is not what happens daily. It's much worse. It's dealing with people likely having one of the worst days of their lives. It's arriving on the scene of a MVA with 4 teens...all dead. It's walking into a crowd of people not knowing what the disturbance is about. It's responding to the same domestic dispute you've responded to every weekend for the last month. It's passed out drunks and kids dying on illegal substances. It's enforcing restraining orders against angry spouses. It's showing up to a convenience store with a freaked out clerk who's just had a gun put in her face 5 minutes before.

Of course it's not in the top five of the most dangerous. They aren't washing windows on high rises, hanging steel or working in a saw mill. They're not getting shot at constantly even though that can and does happen simply because they wear a badge.

The job IS in the top 5 of the most stressful jobs (FACTS!) and for good reason.

Soldier boy. Do a ride along before you make another stupid comment about a cop's job not being hard. Saying it's not hard is just ignorant.

Half of the folks in my unit are in law enforcement officers from all levels, local, county, state and federal. We actively participate and have a partnership with many law enforcement agencies, and do many projects together.

My 2 sisters are HPD, one of my cousins is DPS and 3 others are CBP. I have an uncle who is retired DEA.

I was attached with CBP and a few RGV police agencies in 2011 for one year down south TX, for the border mission. (Still on going mission.) My unit also was teamed up with the Oklahoma State Patrol, and even Tribal Police from Oklahoma during Harvey. The rally point was at the Buc-ees in Waller. They came to assist during the flood.

My FACTS come from officers themselves, and compiled law enforcement data and statistics.

I agree that law enforcement work can be stressful, but it's not hard. I have no ill will towards law enforcement.
Soldier boy....if your friends and relatives are anything like you.....I can see why you think they way you do.

I hope this shit is not happening here now, or in the future. This is a type of policing that I oppose.
