Meanwhile this asshole says that Russia will use cluster bombs when they have to.

They have been, on Ukrainian soil, since 2014. And in many civilian heavy areas.

And even the most brainless of pro-Russian sycophants can now see why Russia blew up the dam. To force Ukrainian armor to hold or into its most dense mine-fields, while repositioning its forces for maximum fire control and coverage instead of spread thin with many of its best units stuck in the south.

The NYT admits - Ukraine is getting their asses kicked

After Suffering Heavy Losses, Ukrainians Paused to Rethink Strategy

Early in the counteroffensive, Ukraine lost as much as 20 percent of its weapons and armor.

In the first two weeks of Ukraine’s grueling counteroffensive, as much as 20 percent of the weaponry it sent to the battlefield was damaged or destroyed, according to American and European officials. The toll includes some of the formidable Western fighting machines — tanks and armored personnel carriers — the Ukrainians were counting on to beat back the Russians.

The startling rate of losses dropped to about 10 percent in the ensuing weeks, the officials said, preserving more of the troops and machines needed for the major offensive push that the Ukrainians say is still to come.

Some of the improvement came because Ukraine changed tactics, focusing more on wearing down the Russian forces with artillery and long-range missiles than charging into enemy minefields and fire.

But that good news obscures some grim realities. The losses have also slowed because the counteroffensive itself has slowed — and even halted in places
— as Ukrainian soldiers struggle against Russia’s formidable defenses. And despite the losses, the Ukrainians have so far taken just five of the 60 miles they hope to cover to reach the sea in the south and split the Russian forces in two.

So Senile Biden is pissing off all our allies in order to continue his Corrupt Ukraine Grift

‘We Do Not Support’: World Leaders Turn Against Biden for Giving Ukraine Cluster Munitions

Major U.S. allies responded negatively to Washington’s decision to include cluster munitions in a new, $800 million military aid package for Ukraine, with some citing the danger of such weapons to civilians while others pointed to international treaty violations.

On July 7, the United States announced that it will send such weapons to Kyiv.

The munitions, also called cluster bombs, are delivered by rockets, missiles, and aircraft, and release a large number of smaller bombs, referred to as bomblets, that can kill indiscriminately over a large area.

“I have followed the media reports,” German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told reporters on July 7 that Berlin opposes Washington’s decision, Reuters reported. “For us, as a state party, the Oslo agreement applies.”

The agreement Baerbock referred to is the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) agreement signed by 111 nations in Oslo, Norway, in December 2008. The convention prohibits the use, production, transfer, and stockpiling of such munitions. The United States, Ukraine, and Russia aren’t party to the CCM.

The Canadian government expressed its disapproval of Washington’s plan on July 8.

“We do not support the use of cluster munitions and are committed to putting an end to the effects cluster munitions have on civilians—particularly children,” the government told CTV News in a statement.

“Canada is fully compliant with the Convention and we take seriously our obligation under the Convention to encourage its universal adoption.”

Speaking to reporters on July 8, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that his country is a “signatory to a convention which prohibits the production or use of cluster munitions and discourages their use,” according to BBC.

The governments of Spain and New Zealand have also opposed sending cluster bombs for use in the Ukraine war. New Zealand is one of the nations that pushed for the creation of the CCM.

Berry, Ukraine isn't getting its ass kicked. Stop posturing.

They've only moved about 30% of the forces they committed and have kept much of their mechanized divisions back while they're sweeping minefields on foot.

They only have about 15% of the mine clearing equipment they needed, so they're being very conservative with what they have because any armor is a sitting duck while they have to methodically clear. And Russia's using a similar tactic of dropping cluster mines behind the Ukrainians as they advance that was so effective when the Ukrainians were using it on Russia earlier. Some of those minefields are 10 miles deep.

We know we're not going to hear a peep out of you about the reality that Russia blew up the dam to force this. You still think it was Ukraine.

The Ukrainians are sitting ducks. Guys crawling on their belly’s looking for mines? Every bit of armor they bring in is going to fry, regardless of how many rope charges they use. The roads aren’t just mined, ten miles deep and replenishable by air, they’re also targeted by arty and mortars. They haven’t been opened up on yet because there’s no need to waste the shells. All that’s coming is a lot more dead people, and American tax dollars literally going up in smoke.

Not only is corrupt Ukraine running out of ammo, they are using up what they have far faster than the US can produce it. Russia can stay patient and dug in and wait for the Ukrainians' to move forward and cut them down

Russia no longer has anything near the 7:1 artillery advantage they had at the start of this.

They keep losing 122's, 152's and 204's at a pretty good clip... plus their crews.

Ukraine's been eliminating Russian artillery at a pace of 4:1 vs its losses and despite having a reasonable arsenal of Tulips, the Russians haven't had any sustained success because they lack the mobility and range to be effective. Which is why the biggest losses have been the 122's and 152's.

Your cited article doesn't say Ukraine is losing. In fact, it shows the change in tactics and the drop in losses as they stop throwing armor at the minefields and switch to a pound and grind strategy which those cluster munitions help with.

Remember that Ukraine's top 3 shell firing artillery systems all the standard 155. Which is why they burn through those shells quickly.

But the U.S. isn't the only source of 155 mm shells. That's the benefit of having multiple NATO countries producing and supplying them.

Add to that that Ukraine's producing their own. Bulgaria appears to have been producing and quietly supply them. South Korea.

The U.S. has stepped up production and will be producing 2x its current volume later this year. Plan to produce 5 to 6x current levels.

The EU will be supplying 1 million shells by end of year.

The U.K. is adding capacity to produce 8x it's current capacity.

The article doesn’t need to, it’s easily inferred. Tell me you’re fucked without telling me you’re fucked. No way Ukraine or anyone else breaches TEN MILES of mines without massive air power. They’re sheep being led to the slaughter. Thousands of lives and billions of US taxpayer money waiting to be wasted.

Your smart use you head. Stop looking at Democrat and Republican and look at what the out come would be. Think what would happen. Russia won't stop at Ukraine. Putin would be like Hitler he would try to keep on going to take over other counties. Especial if Trump wins. You said Trump is going to win. Trump would let him.
