2025 Steelers Season Thread

Tomlin will let Rodgers take as long as he wants. He's his best chance to continue his "non losing season" streak. Originally Posted by Iceman

Keep an eye on Roc Taylor. He may suprise people. Big receiver who ran a 4.49 at the combine.

The path to NFL prospect status rarely follows a straight line, and Roc Taylor’s trajectory exemplifies the value of patience and development. The Oxford, Alabama native turned heads on the high school circuit, putting up over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior before bringing his talents to Memphis. Standing 6’3″ and carrying a solid 215 pounds, Taylor spent his first two seasons learning the ropes of the collegiate game while flashing occasional glimpses of his potential.

Everything clicked for Taylor in 2023, as the big-bodied receiver transformed from rotational player to offensive centerpiece. His junior campaign showcased a receiver coming into his own, culminating in a 1,083-yard season that placed him among the program’s elite. The breakout performance earned him Second-Team All-AAC recognition and caught the attention of NFL scouts who recognized a diamond emerging from the Group of Five rough.

The momentum carried into his senior year, where Taylor proved his junior explosion was no fluke. While the raw numbers dipped slightly, his refined route-running and increased physicality demonstrated the continuing evolution of his game. The former three-star recruit had blossomed into the latest in a string of NFL-ready receivers to come through the Memphis program.

Tomlin Rodger’s bromance. 10/7 and a loss in first round of playoffs. Tomlin gets fired.

Hell, Rooney wouldn't even take the call from the Bears about a trade for Tomlin.
... Play-offs! ... Did someone mention Play-offs?? ...

... play-offs. ... for the Steelers?? ... How absurd! ...

What do you have for those 10 wins?
I see us maybe beating last seasons' end by losing 5 of the last 6.
Vikings L, due to the Rodgers' factor Pack L, Chargers & Buffalo L...

Madden on the Watt contract discussions
Iceman's Avatar
If the Steelers were run as a business, as many claim football is, Watt would be held to his current contract and franchised for the next 2 years if they deemed that he performed well enough. He is closer to the end of his career than the beginning and is at the age where most decline.

The only leverage that Watt has is holding out. If he does, he would still have to "report" for 6 games to fulfill the last year of his contract.

Obviously, we on the outside don't know where the differences lie. It could be length of contract, total money, average money per year, guaranteed money or any combination of these.
bumped, I don't want all this wisdom to be lost
