You very rarely see a puppy that isn't pretty much adorable. Far better looking than human babies.

"According to a study by the Australian Zoologist Konrad Lorenz, baby animals have larger eyes, smaller noses, higher foreheads, and retreating chins. He called this the “baby schema” and pointed out that this holds true for almost all species.

He has pointed out that this is an advantage in nature because the parents tend to favor babies that have the highest degree of these facial features."

"Some scientists believe that animal babies have bigger eyes, ears, and faces in order for the adults of the herd not to eat them.

They need to charm the older animals in the herd in order to survive. Especially among carnivores.

Since they have the same facial features as human babies (bigger eyes, higher forehead, etc) it could indicate that their babies are also capable of charming their parents. "

This isn't a great article on it, but I've read before about how babies are designed to trigger a nurture response in the shape of their eyes and the pitch of their wail. This kind of touches on it.

There are plenty of animal species that unnecessarily kill the young of rival species.

Chimpanzees will murder baby gorillas if they get the opportunity, for example. After they get done killing them, they eat them.

Rare behavior but it does evidently happen.

Among dogs, only male pit bulls will routinely attack females and puppies. This is frowned upon among canines but savage pit bulls are notorious for this.

smile, it's saturday!

EDIT: German shephard mix puppy, 11 weeks old, is laying on his back with his shoulder propped against the door's frame so his head lays upside-down and he appears to be smiling. He has a black muzzle and black mask-like markings around his eyes, but the rest of his fur is a light golden brown. His ears are pointed.

I've been meaning to ask, is brother dog growing at the same rate as bear?

Whore is really, really enamored of this dog.

Hopefully she doesn't get sick of it and discard when it grows up and becomes a burden.

I enjoy my dogs, try not to go overboard.

Brother dog is growing at the same rate, although slightly smaller. Bear was the biggest at birth and continues still to lead, although only by a pound or two now

Kind of entertained by the dog updates actually.

What did you pay for it?

A lot of people do this after the animal stops being cute.

GSD does not stay cute for very long.

My dogs were cute when they were puppies. Now they look like the animal equivalent of mass murderers.

My last dog was a 72 pound pit bull. She was my ride or die. Miss her muchly.

I think Bear will always be a little cute to me but I'm much looking forward to him being more of a Dog and less of a puppy

Puppy stage is fun but I am looking forward to when he can make actual distance treks with me, and to when I don't have to worry about people trying to steal him off the street (god i hate this city)

My daughter can go wherever she wants with our dogs.

I would trust them to walk her through a crowd of Antifa or only black lives matter terrorists with the dogs, off-leash.

Little dogs are fun as well. As I said my ex-favorite whore had a Pembroke Welsh Corgi which was full of personality and adorable, all of this shit. I would not, however, trust if to protect a child against a mob of scumbags.

The only downsides to large guardian breeds are getting them into the car for vet appointments, and they usually die young.
