A WDF Bandwidth Special... part 2

And the great John F. Kennedy would be a conservative today. Which just goes to show how far left the democratic party has drifted. Right into socialist territory.

Ok, timmytard. Two questions on this so-called myth:

1. Assume the Cold War had dragged on a few more years and the Soviet bloc had imploded under Clinton. Wouldn't Bubba be taking credit? Would that be a myth?

2. The Cold War began under Truman and ended under Reagan. That's eight Presidents. Tell us how what percentage of the credit for winning it YOU would allocate to each President, and why. (Your percentages have to add up to 100.) No historian I know would fail to give Reagan his fair share, if not the lion's share.

Not that it matters, but the Berlin Wall came down, and the Soviet Union broke up during the George HW Bush administration. Ijs

Yes, and Germany surrended under Truman but who was behind D-Day, Sicily, Lend Lease, the massive build up, Midway, the Philippines, and a little somthing called the atom bomb.

The Soviet Union fell under Bush's watch but it was Reagan that exhausted them to the point of collapse and Bush doesn't argue the point.
You're a revisionist moron, slingblade, and I spelled out why you're a moron. It's a simple matter of "cause and effect", slingblade. The U.S.S.R.'s -- Gorbachev's -- actions were in reaction to what Reagan was doing, and you cannot change that fact no matter how much dissembling you do, slingblade. Care to consider how much another two decades of Cold War militarism would have cost, slingblade?

When are you gonna learn that name calling is for children.

Yep he was an actor before, during and after he served, He was a really good actor

I don't know what you mean by the cost of the cold war. Did we quit making WMD's or something? I don't think so, neither did we start trusting Russia. It may have shifted some commerce but I don't think it made any difference military wise. We have been fighting them ever since just not face to face.

The president and the Congress have slashed the defense budget to the point where, after adjusting for inflation, it is some 40% less than in 1985 during the second Reagan term.

Slick Willie also cut troop levels. This is how he "balanced the budget". He also used an executive order to require a special tax on military items at the exchange. Required military items like uniforms, belts, ribbons, etc. This is how he offset the cost of the Bosnia deployment.

You're a moronic, lib-retarded revisionist, slingblade, and your asinine POV is equivalent to claiming that the U.S. played less of a role in ending WWII than Hitler shooting himself in the head. But here's the reality, slingblade, like Hitler during WWII, Gorbachev was forced to deal with the fact that the U.S. -- as manifested under Reagan's policies -- was able to seriously outpace the U.S.S.R. militarily. Gorbachev recognized that fact and dealt with it in a realistic manner, unlike you, slingblade.
