I Won't Be Watching The NBA If This Keeps Up....

I think he was fired that season or the next by Alabama.

I was heading to Houston for work and I assumed he was going there for recruiting. I didn't ask him because I didn't care. For all I know he could have had family that lived there. he still got taken to school by Riley. that's one of the things that separates a good coach from a great coach. it's not x's and o's or practice so much .. it's in-game adjustments

Denny Crum at UofL had a reputation for that. got the nickname "Cool Hand Luke" for it. seemed like every time in a close game when he'd call time-out and set up a play it would work. that's not quite true obviously but his ability to do that impressed a rival coach of his .. Bob Knight. back in the day IU, UofL, UK and Purdue would play a intra-state double header. they'd rotate the two state schools against the other two. didn't last all that long but it was a kool format. and of course UK and IU are long time rivals that have been playing each other yearly forever.

Joe Hall, the UK coach at the time, was probably the WORST in-game coach EVER. just watch the UK v Georgetown title game for proof. Hall sat on his ass almost all the second half while UK couldn't make a shot to save their asses. Crum would have called time-out and drawn up some plays that would work. The General would have called time-out and ordered his troops to run nothing but layup plays. Hall didn't do shit until it was too late. UK lost that title game because of Hall.

in 1986 just after UofL upset Koach Clem Kadiddlehopper and the "hand-picked to win" Puke Blue Sissies, i was on campus at UofL near old Crawford Gym, the practice facility, and out from the door comes a couple of rather familiar guys, Crum and Knight. Knight had come down to Louisville to visit Crum.

well as i walked toward them i said "Hello" to coaches Crum and Knight, talked to them for a few minutes. i used to laugh when fans would say .. "Man, that Knight is an asshole! i'd punch him in the face if i saw him!".

after i stopped laughing i'd say ... "Well, you better bring a step ladder 'cause he's every bit of 6'5" which makes him twice as big as you!"

in his prime he was a big dude with a nasty temper ... get in his face at your peril or you'll end up in a garbage can like that LSU fan he picked up and dumped on his head into .. a garbage can. yeah that really happened. he's had several run-ins with LSU fans. .

But I don't remember him doing much to justify being the top overall draft pick... it was a great game though and I became hooked on basketball and just hooping period.

I'll always love the game. I wish I was younger. I would play pick up games every single day. Unfortunately, my body told me to fuck off about that plan. Getting older really sucks.

I need to go find some old man sports. I can't be fucking around with these teenagers dunking on me any longer. I'll miss hooping, but I wont miss these kids who embarrass me.

that team shouldn't have existed as it was. first Milt Wagner, our star guard, broke his ankle in 1985, in the very last game where he could have taken a med redshirt. so he came back for another year. back then it wasn't common to leave early. then he along with Jeff Hall who was a killer shooter, were our starting guards. too bad they hadn't implemented the 3 point shot yet, that was a year or two away, because this white dude Jeff Hall could rain them from outside, so we had a killer back court combo .. all we needed was .. a 6'9" athletic center .. named Pervis Ellison! Ellison was not some unheralded recruit out of nowhere, he was a top 30 ranked prospect from Georgia. but no one expected him to have that kind of impact as a freshman. Crum, as he always did, started the best players including Ellison a true freshman.

that was a bit unusual even for Crum, you usually have upper clansmen that have more experience and more physical maturity. Ellison was a 6'9" beanpole lol. but he was the best big man on that team that year so Crum started him.

he was conference freshman of the year at UofL and a bit of a sensation, even more so when he won the NCAA title game for us, with seconds to go he got an offensive rebound off a miss and put it in. gave us the lead and we held on to win. BAHHAAAA

won the game for us. at the 1:24:40 mark Ellison gets the rebound and gives us a 3 point lead.

you are right, he had a solid career but he wasn't really a first rounder.

I was pissed that the Lakers didn't sell out for Porzingis when he was on the trading block. The Knicks are stupid. Go fleece them. Fortunately, they went after Anthony Davis instead. I'm cool with that but James Dolan is a sensitive bitch and Porzingis went public about not wanting to play for the Knicks. I don't think it would have really taken that much to trade for him. The combo of AD and KP playing together still makes my dick hard.

Edit: Sorry oeb11, the NBA will not be going bankrupt. There are too many people like me out there who love the game. You keep wasting your time wishing for the worst though. The NBA will continue to thrive with or without people like you. You can bet that shit Originally Posted by Lucas McCain

I am a short white guy - and BB was never my thing. I do have an Indy car test day under my belt - and that is something no NBA player is capable of handling. No more than I will ever dunk a basketball .

Maybe one week overlap at the end of football but the coaches were OK with that because you had to be in shape and the first week of basketball was just getting everyone back in the swing of longer practices. Of course, a pussy like you was probably a shitty player they didn’t want so they didn’t accommodate you.

A guy with his ability should not be on his 4th team. To his credit though, it seems like he has matured quite a bit while closing out his career in the next few years.

SEC insider trading allegation

On November 17, 2008, it was reported that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a civil suit against Cuban relating to alleged insider trading in the shares of Mamma.com, now known as Copernic.[78] A stock dilution occurred shortly after a trade in June 2004, giving hints of inside knowledge at the time of the trade, and Cuban allegedly was saved from a loss of $750,000.[79] The SEC claimed that Cuban ordered the sale of his holdings in Mamma.com after he had been confidentially approached by the company to participate in a transaction likely to dilute shares of current shareholders. Cuban disputed the charges, saying he had not agreed to keep the information secret.[80] On his blog, Cuban contended the allegations were false and that the investigation was "a product of gross abuse of prosecutorial discretion".[81] DealBook, a section of The New York Times, reported through an anonymous source that Cuban believed the investigation was motivated by an SEC employee having taken offense to his interest in possibly distributing the film Loose Change.[82]

In July 2009, the U.S. District Court dismissed the charges against Cuban, and the SEC appealed. In September 2010, an appeals court said that the district court had erred and that further proceedings would be necessary to address the merits of the suit.[83]

A federal jury in Texas found in favor of Cuban on October 16, 2013.[84] The nine-member jury issued the verdict after deliberating 3 hours and 35 minutes.[85]

In March 2014, Cuban was on air at CNBC criticizing high-frequency trading (HFT).[86] Those against HFT, such as Cuban, believe the technology is equivalent to automated insider trading.[87]
He got away with that one....

TWK, I would suspect political news to beat everything now. America likes drama and you can't beat this kind of soon to be drama between Trump and Biden. This is about to get completely out of control in epic proportions.

I don't know whether anybody has had the displeasure of having a monkey throw shit at you at the zoo and nail the throw. It happened to me in 3rd grade. That monkey was tame compared to the shit these guys are going to throw at each other.

Trump, doesn't play nice. I'll admit that I respect that about the guy. You fuck with him, he'll fuck with you harder. I have no problem with that character trait.

I other news, the Chi Coms threw this guy in jail because they didn’t like what he was saying:

You won’t hear a peep from Lebron and the other dumb shits in the NBA. They enjoy their first amendment rights in this country. They turn a blind eye to Commies and their oppressive government tho.
