So, you still think Covid came from Bats?

Dr. Marc Siegel, the Fox News Contributor, head of Doctor Radio on Sirius/XM, and Professor at the NYU Langone Medical Center, described a conversation he had this week with the preeminent virologist at NYU Langone. Siegel said she's been "breeding" the COVID virus to use it to evaluate various vaccines. She told him it's very unlikely that the furin cleavage site was created in a lab, and it's probably the result of natural evolution. She believes the furin cleavage site is too fragile and subtle to be the result of viral engineering.

Siegel in his appearances on and columns he wrote for Fox appeared to lean towards the belief that COVID 19 was created in the Wuhan laboratory from a bat virus. I wonder if he's changed his mind. Originally Posted by Tiny

What this meandering discussion fails to recognize is that so many, if not most, of the substances morphed through pharma development and/or research have as their ORIGINAL source for the principle target of the research and development natural sources .... tree bark, lizard venom, snake venom, and frog juices etc .... very few are pure chemical mixes derived from putting purely chemical elements together.

Additionally for the most part these research studies go through a rat/mice/animal testing in labs, so some form of small creature will be present during the process of developing the target of the research.

I suspect the same people who want to blame this current wave of infection (there have been others before it and will be others afterwards) on an animal also blame the warming of the Earth on humans ... while ignoring or being unaware of Earth's geological history. Or they actually believe God made the Earth in six days.

Regardless of various opinions - the virus came from wuhan - and is now and always will be the Wuhan virus.

If the DPST/fascist Karens are offended by this wording - Too Bad!!! Liberals live to be 'offended'.

I read the article. According to the Daily Mail https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Mail they received a 22 page scientific paper to be published in the Quarterly Review of Biophysics Discovery (which I couldn't find online). This paper claims that they have proof that the coronavirus has been modified by "laboratory manipulation".

I would be interested in having some peer review done before I cast judgement on whether their claims can be proven or not. A single paper by 2 scientists doesn't constitute any kind of scientific consensus.

Those vaccines really work!

Now they’re saying the Pfizer jab is 64% effective against Covid.

There is a growing concern based on post-vaccine follow ups that any of them may be increasing the body's sugar production (or putting it another way the body's inability to sufficiently process the body's sugar production), which results in a dangerous increase of sugar in the blood.

Which ethnic group in this country has historically the greatest issue with sugar issues as far as natural processing of the body's sugar production? Why would the current administration be HIDING these INTERNATIONAL findings?

Blaming bats is merely an attempt to redirect blame and engage the concerned public in a debate that has ABSOLUTELY no value in so far as eradicating the virus and/or healing those exposed to it.

And Steven Quay, the pathologist and breast cancer expert, well, what do you say about someone who announces his self-published papers with PR Newswires. PR Newswire is what NASDAQ companies use to promote their stock, and apparently Quay, who runs a NASDAQ company, has figured out that's a good way to promote himself too.

I took about a 5 minute look at his 193 page master piece, here, where using "Bayesian interference" he concludes there's a 99.8% probability the virus was created in a laboratory:

https://zenodo.org/record/4477212#.YONPouj0lPY

Now apparently back in January when he published this paper the first time (there have been two updates) he wasn't nearly as confident that this was created in the Wuhan lab as he is now, because he's said at least twice on cable news recently that there's a 999,999,999 out of 1,000,000,000 probability this is from gain of function research.

The Bayesian interference Quay's using to come up with this precise number looks like typical "bull shit in, bull shit out" statistical analysis. And in fact on a Zoom call Quay had with virologists and the like, he admitted this was the first time he'd used Bayesian analysis. Here's a critique of Quay and Muller's Wall Street Journal Op Ed and Quay's paper,

https://respectfulinsolence.com/2021...piracy-theory/

The people who really know viruses, like virologists, molecular biologists, molecular epidemiologists who are engaged in virus research, mostly don't believe the virus was the result of gain of function research or they're fence sitters. Even David Baltimore is a fence sitter. He's by far the most eminent person who's actually an expert cited as a believer in laboratory origin mentioned in Nicholas Wades' article that was linked by LustyLad and Why_Yes_I_Do:

https://www.latimes.com/business/sto...ab-leak-theory

Maybe this came from gain of function research. Maybe it went directly from bats to humans. If we abandon either of these hypotheses and either choose to do nothing about the labs or nothing about human exposure to bats and bat guano, we run the risk of fucking up big time.

The idea that he is afraid of vaccines is an attempt to discredit him by insinuating that he's anti-vaccine. This is a lie and I challenge you to cite anything to back up your claim. My bet is that you'll do no such thing.
