Does the hobby vernacular ever sneak into your RL?

Oh man, I remember when I was with a friend and we were discussing current interests and she excitedly said, "I thought I wasn't going to like Greek at first, but then it turned out to be great."

In my mind, I was like, "Did you just mean what I think you said? That you like anal?"

Instead, I said, "You mean Greek food?"

She said, "No, I've never tried that."

Then I said, "The Greek language then?"

Finally, she is like, "No, you dummy! The TV show, GRΣΣK, on ABC. Have you seen it?"

Man, it was hard to keep a straight face.

I thought she confessed to liking anal.

A man can only hope...
I always look for other folks to say something that would lead me to believe they know of this world Im still looking for someone to slip up lol
So I have only been hobbying since April and the other day was my birthday, and for years my brother and I have this inside joke. He asks me what I want for my birthday I tell him a hooker he tells me he is not getting me a hooker and we have a couple of laughs. Now he doens't know I hobby and this year I decided to treat myself for my birthday by seeing one of the local ladies. So the morning of my birthday I am eating breakfast my phone goes off and it is a text from my brother that reads "Hey fucker happy birthday so what do you want for your birthday and don't say a hooker!!" I swear to God I nearly spit out my Orange Juice!!!

If he only knew what I had planned for that night!!!

I had lunch with a fellow hobbyist who laughed when he looked at my car. Turns out I have several cars that say SL on them. I never noticed.

Was at lunch with a fellow hobbyist, he asked the waitress what options he had for his side dish, she rattled them off and then said "a tossed salad" is also available. Took everything we had to not bust out ROFLMAO.
I was riding in car with some family memders not long ago, I blurted out speaking of a stupid move towards another driver " newbie move" awkward silence for a few seconds hoping I wouldnt be questioned about it.
A newbie is a broad general term used to describe any novice entry.. all over the web. Try again Canyonman ... that attempt BLEW CHUNKS ( and was not in the least bit comedial ) But if remedial was your intention... A +!

My job allows me the privilege of working with our armed forced and defense department at a number of installations nationwide... Perhaps the biggest user of acronyms.... Bound to run across something funny... On the side of a building:

"ACG Headquarters"

Air Combat Group!
I never considered you as a potential provider.

Back to the OG topic...
Vernacular is an awesome word! I used it in my smooth sales vocab to some customers and made myself look SMART. Thanks again NET! You always leave behind a trace of awesomeness!
