Just a quick question :-)

Good advice sir. Thanks for the info. In my experience if LE wants you , they will get you, so the trick is staying off their radar and te above advise leans that way. While an arrest is not a conviction it is pretty much a slam dunk in our court system. Who is the judge to believe an officer of the law or some young good looking lady, usually the judge sides with the cop. And a cop can never, ever admit Ooops arrested wrong person, in fear of losing their job. Be nice to the police, be nice with your neighbors, do not attract attention and be humble. You may stay off the radar.

Annie be careful, pls. I am asking publically to be polite and stop the ranting, This is a warning!!!
The laws in the state of Louisiana are simple and to the point, Anyone found or believed to be accepting compensation for the exchange of sexual favors , as well as anyone who arranges said act by means of forwarding, connecting, or coercing, is guilty of the crime of either prostitution, inciting or pandering.

So to answer the OP, It does not matter Indy or Agency to the provider as far as the risks of being busted, with the exception of the few occasions where providers have been changed as part of a criminal enterprise.

Exactly. I agree...regardless of what you have a license to do, because licenses are not issued for what is being done, agencies and indies alike are at risk.

Now the good news, there are ways to limit your chances of a bust ending in a conviction, other than the known ways, a few other things would be:

1. never have in your incall or on your person an excessive amt of cash.
2. never save texts or call history in your cell phone and DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN 1 CELL PHONE ON YOUR PERSON.(in court you WILL be found guilty of a criminal enterprise)
3. never do outcalls, as the law on a legal residence does offer some legal maneuvering.
4. never leave any sexual goods such as vibrators, lubricants, or condoms, (used or unused) in plain sight or in bulk quantities.
5. never overdress or underdress with a first time client(slinky clothing in court screams hooker).
6. never answer trick questions such as "do i need to bring my own rubbers" or "is this a bbbj or cbj" etc.
7. never be in the act of any other crimes while working, drugs are the number 1 reason for prostitution busts in the United States.
8. never draw attantion to yourself or your business in a public area, Keep your friends and pimps away from your work hotel, this is the biggest reason for busts by local authorities.
9. never say more than you need to to anyone (the right to remain silent has never hurt anyone when used)
10. Just because you are arrested, does not mean you are convicted (most convictions come from not following the advice above, people hang themselves) Originally Posted by I_AM _______

Excellent advice! Rules to live by, IMO. #11? Stay on your P's and Q's. Just because he's a regular doesn't mean you don't need to watch yourself. Keep yourself safe by remembering why you did all that checking and rechecking in the first place.[/COLOR]

The absolute best advice in this business.. Always have someone ready and waiting with either 5000 cash or bond ability, not your bf/pimp.... and keep your mouth shut. Originally Posted by I_AM _______

Before I respond to what definitely needs to be publically addressed, I would like to thank you all for your DIGNIFIED answers. I researched the LLC for Jadore and was impressed by the business and legal aspect of their business. They crossed their t's and dotted their i's. I was intrigued which in-turn led me to ask that question.
@ Annie

Lol I don't know what part of my question angered you to the point of attempting to tarnish my reputation on ECCIE.

1. In asking this question, I was not trying to question the legitimacy of your agency. Legitimate or not, your agency has a great reputation here in Louisiana.

2. Yes, before my mother got sick she worked for you for 2 days to provide for her children. I am not my mothers babysitter/pimp/agent whatever. It is not my responsibility to explain hobby rules to her... that is your job. -- And what my mother does has nothing to do with what type of provider I am. You never had ANY problems with me when I worked for you. AND since I have gone INDEPENDENT, many of my friends can attest that I am no theif or an untrustworthy character, by any means.

3. I don't know what gave you the impression that calling me Mimi would affect me in anyway. I changed my hobby name to Eden because I thought it would be disrespectful to carry over that name when you built my name. Hobbyist aren't stupid and 80% of my clients remember me as Mimi.. so it's no secret. --It's tatooed on my back for petes sake! You helped me get my first stellar review on ASPD.

4. "You still wanted your job..." -- This is a PUBLC thank you for not wanted to work with me, because of my mother. Branching off on my own was the BEST thing that ever happened to me. Better cleints, better hours, and a HUGE return. (I couldn't afford college working for you)

With that said, I'm wondering why you are still harping over something that happened 3 years ago... that I had no control over?

Is it that time of the month?
Are the kids getting on your nerves today?
Or is it the fact that reading my outstanding reviews turns that light bulb on in your head ... "Damn, we could have made some great money together."

Which one?

Eden, the problem with incorporating any business is that it then becomes an open book to the government and must follow the letter of the law. With todays corporate regulations, a charge of simple inciting that may carry a year sentence, can become a big hornets nest of charges creating federal charges that could exceed 10 times as much in fines and sentences. Most people form a corporation to limit liability, however that is for CIVIL reasons, to protect personal assets. It does very little to protect in a criminal range. The one thing it does do is opens the door for Federal prosecution on charges that otherwise would be a state or local issue. I would not recommend anyone incorporate an escort agency unless they are in fact ONLY escorts and not providing any illegal services. Case in point is the 2008 bust of Desert Divas in AZ, an incorporated company is forced to keep records by the trade comission and it was those records that hung alot of people. heres an archived news story.

The need for an agency to control the contact and flow between a client and an escort is the easiest way to proove a criminal enterprise. As many have said here, If LE wants you, they have you. If LE wants to charge the pope with inciting, he is arrested, and if they want him bad enough, he is doing time. If you are going to work in this industry, weigh the facts and be sure that you are willing to make the trade. If you arent willing to pay the price, then just dont get involved. Its called taking responsibility, everyone else has to do it in their everyday lives, so thinking this is any different, is nieve at best.

@ I am - Taxes? I looked at “searchme’s” signature line and saw “taxes.” Nobody has mentioned taxes. Hypothetically, how does one deal with taxes?

That's a good question. I wonder if there is someone on here that could answer your tax question because I would like to know as well. I know a little but I'm sure there is a lot that I don't know!
escorting is legal in all states and you can in fact claim it on taxes, however most claim it as an Entertainer. truth be told, nobody in history has ever been charged with a crime based on what they claim their income came from on their tax forms. You could put down prostitution and you will not end up arrested.

You need to report your income and pay taxes on it. You will note that even illegal activities including embezzlement is actually noted in the IRS instructions. The IRS is independent of law enforcement, for the most part (but not entirely). They do NOT report where your earnings comes from because that would be an illegal invasion of privacy. On the other hand, NOT reporting income can land you in double hot water!

Simply classify employment as "entertainment". As such, certain business expenses are deductible as long as you have adequate records. Some deductions include costumes that would not be usable as street attire, certain accessories, and of course, boob jobs and the like.

BTW, boob jobs are depreciating assets on a 3-year life. There has been an actual federal case, and the court ruled in favor of the entertainer because she could prove that an enhanced bustline increased her income. Keep in mind if you can show where you spent all of the income you claim to have taken in, you would not owe any taxes. Lets face it, what escort would claim everything she was paid if there is no other data on the amounts she recieved?

You are so smart. I would love to pick your brain from time to time. Send me a PM or email!
Actually the laws regarding prostitution changed recently. Now I don't know if this is for the state or just in New Orleans. They changed the classification of the crime from a felony to a misdemeanor. Basically if you are caught then they will issue a ticket (similar to a speeding ticket) and a date to appear in court.
Also Eden if you want to look at "legal" business models that are similar in nature to escort agencies then look into strip clubs. Some of the major chains are Rik's Cabaret, Spearmint Rhino, Score's, Jaguar's, Cheetah Club....etc.....etc.
