WISCONSIN: UNIONS ARE GOING TO GET SHELLACKED!

Are you kidding? Unions have a lot more money than the Kochs. If they aren't supporting them, it's because they know they won't win anyway.

Damn, the ag can copy and paste.
Despite premature claims in this thread to the contrary, I believe the final epitaph has yet to be written on the Wisconsin Governor's race. Quite frankly, it could be 2 1/2 years before this race is finally settled, perhaps even longer. The Union vote was somewhat split between Falk and Barrett (with Falk having the larger portion) but Wisconsin's unions have always had their eyes on the prize, no matter who should emerge victorious. The prize has always been Scott Walker, not the Democratic opponents in the primary's.

If it has not already done so, I suspect the union vote will quickly energize behind Barrett. Barrett ran a credible campaign against Walker in the general election a couple of years ago and he will again next month. Will Barrett win? It's anybody's guess at this point but those who boastfully claim to know the eventual outcome are not reading tea leaves. They are sipping Kool-Aid!

I believe it will be a very close election and the eventual winner is yet to be determined!

Politico ran an excellent article entitled "Armageddon in Wisconsin" in this morning's online edition. Enjoy!

I pay taxes, taxes pay government workers, government workers pay dues to the union, the union uses dues to support one political party with taxes I paid.
Government unions should not exist.

Way to go 2Dogs, you are on both sides of the issue.

How government workers spend their personal income is not for you or me to decide. That choice is theirs alone. If they decide to spend their personal income on union dues, go for it!

End of story!!!!!
Walker got more votes in the Special Primary that the Democrats demanded than the combined vote of all Democrats; split ticket had nothing to do with the results and anti Walker prospects.

Wisconsin voters are sick of the union threats, violence, tactics, and thuggery. They support his reforms which have saved the state from fiscal insanity (think California)!

The flip side of Whirly's biased assessment would be that primary races rarely have as many voters as general election races. Many of the Democratic leaning voters might not have cared who won between Barrett and Falk. What mattered to them was defeating Walker next month. I suspect voter apathy will not be an issue in next month's recall election.

As I said earlier, the Governor's recall election will be very close with the winner yet to be determined!
Your right BT; thanks for pointing that out; final vote count (100% of precints) shows 5 Dems total at 670,000 vs. Walker 626,500. So voter split had very little to do with it, especially in an special primary election.

But BT is right; it will be close, but I suspect Walker will get much of the votes from the independents who didn't turn out on Tuesday; it was the Democrats who had to gain most from voter enthusiasm in the special election and it appears it didn't happen.

There was more than 2.2 milion votes cast in the November 2010 election; so figure another 1 million voters +/- who were not motivated to vote in the Special Election. The smart money says they are likely Walker supporters.
The wild card however, could be the Democrats (union driven) voter fraud in Wisconsin.

Bugtux, if the government has the authority to restrict corporations or tell a business how much they have to pay why not unions? Specifically government unions.l
There should be NO collective bargaining by government employees.

Oops, please don't pay attention to 2Dogs internal struggles from within!

I can't help but wonder whether one side or the other will eventually win! Or will 2Dogs ongoing internal conflicts always end up being a draw?

Sorry, BigTurd, but government unions insist on distorting their bargaining power and intrude on the life of all citizens by demanding above market wages for lower than market acceptable output. By disbanding government unions, the government is removing intervention into the daily lives of citizens. Without the government unions, there will be smaller government, less government control, and more freedom.

You lose, BigTurd. Find another stupid argument to support your position.
