It's not close to the airport but I highly suggest The Cove. By far the best restaurant I've ever been to. It's about 15 minutes or so from the airport. Well worth it though. All organic food and great selection of beers and wine.

Best sandwich in town is Zito's! Try their Serious Sandwich....or a Half Serious. 8800 block of Broadway, east of airport! Great soups too. Best Burger...

Excellent Tex Mex on Broadway north of Loop, on the left. Used to be called EEHO...now has a new name, which I can't remember, but still good.
Had a great Chopped Brisket sandwich at the mobile place...sides were forgettable.
