..........i agree the first time i tried their sauce i thought it was old or spoiled. honestly i think kansas city is way over rated for bbq.. . i felt the same about Arthur Bryants sauce. Ever since KC Masterpiece hit the market, everyone thinks we a a sweet tomato based sauce type of town. To me a good BBQ sauce needs enough spice to make your lips tingle.
Me, I prefer Gates, LC's or Byants in that order. Gates for a beef and a half, LC's for ribs and Bryants for burnt ends and have cooked fries.
Worst BBQ I ever had was in the Carolinas, a mustard based sauced. To me it was gross, but the locals love it.
