How do you handle unwanted texts?

I miss those unsolicited texts from that HOT stripper..... Originally Posted by Paulwantsya

Stuff like that could ruin a marriage, break up a family, and all around just cause a lot of unnecessary drama. If you're sending out random texts to clients and they haven't given you the OK to do so, you shouldn't be a provider. Period. I've known a few girls that have gotten contacted by clients significant others, all because of a text to their husband.

Pretend you're someone else.

I do this regularly, not just with hooks and it works for me anyway.

Nice!!!

So I totally understand where youre coming from as far as the whole reference thing.

I treat these calls much the same way I treat ordinary nuisance phone calls, and usually react similarly to the way I react when a bum or a homeless approaches me in public looking for a handout.

A lot of times I get calls from hooks I've not actually seen or to my ability to recollect even contacted to make inquiry of. I wonder if that happens to anyone else.

I've actually taken up one hook on an unsolicited call and it worked out pretty OK. My assumption is the hooks do this when they're feeling particularly desperate for money for one reason or another.

Text her back asking if she is working with Officer Thomas and he changed his cell number. To come into the station for the new one.

Good one. Pretending to be a cop or some other government agent is probably good enough to put the fear of God into these petty criminals.

I think of them also the way I look at solicitors or beggars waiting outside of both entrances and exits of a supermarket trying to guilt normal people into one or another type of unnecessary bullshit charity like little league or girl's basketball or whatever else they're trying to steal. It's not enough for them that people pay school taxes evidently.

Those people I usually ignore or pretend to be texting or talking on my phone.

Nothing is worse than volunteer firefighters standing at traffic lights with plastic pails applying pressure for people to give them charity so they can play more softball and drink more cheap beer.

Don't call us, we'll call you folks!

I stick to email when contacting my clients to let them know my upcoming schedule.
Some of them I know texting is ok especially if they text me first. But I usually avoid that route.
