It's not the flu. Flu implies influenza. That's like saying its the same as chicken pox. It's similar to the flu, but it doesn't seem to be serious for most people. Not serious enough to shut down the economy. And I'm pro-open-shit-up, believe me.

Don't bother calculating the "mortality rate." It's unknown because we don't know how many have been infected; and it's unimportant, only ever brought up as a distraction. The important number is mortality.
If you're not happy unless you're using math, count toe-tags and divide by one: that's the mortality.
