I'm not sure about whom you are speaking, but terminating a person for sexual harassment is "with cause," primarily because "it's against the law" and secondarily is a violation of the written policies of probably 99% of the companies with 20 or more employees. Furthermore, most of these companies will offer an option of voluntary termination in lieu of being "fired"! (BTW: Clarence Thomas was responsible for creating the EEOC guidelines on "sexual harassment.")

The "issues" with respect to the "slush fund" ... (1) other persons beside "sexual harassment" victims were paid from the "slush fund"; (2) more than likely "non-disclosure" agreements were a part of the settlements that may have been mutually sought by the victims as well to avoid details of activities from being publicized .... (these victims have "moved on" with their lives, established long term relationships, have children, families, and/or current employment that might be put in jeopardy.
