I haven't been on the board very long, and I was never a member of ASPD. However I've been around the net since the Compuserve days, so I feel that I have some useful experiences in posting my opinion.
I would be against the option put forth by Traveling man. The whole point of the reviews section is not only for people to post reviews (and there is NO mechanism to verify the veracity of the posting), but for people to comment on them as well. How do you keep legitimate questions and comments from being posted along with the trash? There isn't any way to do so.
And if you go and take a look at someone, you can see what types of posts they have made in the past, and then make your own determination on whether or not they are full of shit.
The bottom line is that there isn't any way to make this "work" like the OP wants it to. The more info you have, the better off you are. And use your own bullshit radar to determine if you wanna believe what someone has written.. or not.
