I'm new to the RGV (& SoTx), so I don't have all the history behind this squabble, but from what I have read it seems to be related to the 'verification' rule stated here. Some seem to blame the mods, even ascribing nefarious interests to their reasons. Some are screaming, "Why the change?"

Blame the NGOs and LEOs for a recent change in the legal climate. I would suggest that the mods/owners primary self interest in this matter is staying clear of our 'great' legal system. The hooks these organizations are using involve under-age and/or trafficked individuals. An issue the verification process attempts to address. The personal ramifications for the administrators of sites like ECCIE have become quite evident with busts in Albuquerque, San Francisco, and Seattle. The ramifications for the rest of us are also illustrated by these busts as mongers scramble to find new resources.

Where I come from UTR providers do not advertise. Period! They are not discussed on public forums, though friends might share information through private channels like email or phone conversations.
