Why did the points not go away

I can't speak for the mods here, but when I was a mod a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away, we'd usually cut some slack if someone used "drunkenness" as an excuse, and asked for consideration.

When someone was pretty obviously "drunk," it was pretty common to just flat ban someone without any points and then remove the ban when they sobered up and contacted us.

You know, maybe that would be a good function to add to the board software.

You could put someone on "drunk test" mode where they have to do some simple test like one of those CAPTCHA text test things. Or maybe turn it on for certain times of the day.
So I have a question , say you have 23 points and you do a 10 point infraction , now they don't zero , so what happens with 33 points ?

In my opinion the ban threshold should be reduced with each ban to get the idiots that use it like its some sort of account out of the picture.

But I have to be honest, I do enjoy watching a good meltdown on occasion.

Do points normally expire 1 year?
