The best era for rock n roll was from about the mid 60's to the mid 70's. Alas, disco killed music and it still hasn't recovered

My parents generation gave us Freebird, Knights in White Satin, A Whiter Shade of Pale, Kashmir, Midnight Rider......and my generation, the 80's produced some real symphonic masterpieces such as Wake Me Up (Before you Go Go), How Will I know (if he really loves me), I'm So Excited, and a long list of bubble gum pop from one hit wonders.

*sigh* We sucked

My list:

Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Beautiful Child - Stevie Nicks
Into The Mystic - Van Morrison
Feed Jake - Billy Dean
Fortunate Son - CCR
Dog and Butterfly - Heart
Knights in White Satin - Moody Blues
For A Dancer - Jackson Browne
And So It Goes - Billy Joel
Goin to California - Led Zepplin
John Doe No. 24 - Mary Chapin Carpenter Originally Posted by SinsOfTheFlesh

I'm amazed you guys can come up with a top 5 as there are so many great tunes to choose from. If I had to come up with a top 5 though, The Beatles and Zepplin would definitely be on it.
