Bartering

However, I'm willing to give it a try. I will trade with a lady for an evening of sexual ecstasy. The only question is what are you offering in return? Originally Posted by pjorourke

I have had a couple of good circumstances, but overall on the negative side, that was probably due to me being too trusting in the arrangement. There are certain words in this hobby that make me run, "Loan" and "Trade"

For some it must work, I am acceptable but only with a trusted few.

I'm not a big fan of barter either -- there is too much uncertainty in the value of the items received on the part of both partners. However, I'm willing to give it a try. I'll even do the work in a bikini and heels

I doubt you'll get another offer like that!

I agree, I'd only think of bartering with someone I trusted, so that means I'd have to know them pretty well.

To the hobbyists, if you barter, then expect to loose what you give as almost all providers will think it was just a gift. Don't barter!"

I'm so surprised you say this. If you define a barter as a barter, how can it be misconstrued as a gift? What kind of women are you dealing with? Stupid ones or just plain duplicitous? I don't think most ladies in this domain are like that and a lot of us, clients or ladies, never meet terribly lousy people in this arena either. How come you apparently do?

I think the issue is not so much whether providers respect reciprocity but rather if the fault is anywhere it's that providers tend to be just too generous.

pssst. I used to do that on the weekends in the autozone parking lot just to tease guys before I was a "provider". Well, maybe not a bikini, but usually a skirt and low cut blouse.
A girl with her own tools. Guys were easily impressed

Loans and such have turned out so badly for me so often that I non longer (or rarely) loan anything that I cannot live without. If you have not experienced this or the similar thing t(hat the girl tries to make the bartered item a gift), then you have led a sheltered life. I am pleased to know some of you are shocked by such behavior. It requires me to challenge my cynicism.

So barter whatever you wish to give for whatever you are willing to receive, but complete the deal promptly or misunderstanding will ensue which is when shit happens in the real world.

I have traded photo shoots for sessions for years and have only been stiffed a few times. If the provider feels she is getting a good deal, and not being taken advantage of, she usually is more than happy to pay up. I think the key is to be very clear about exactly what you are offering and what is expected in return. Also it helps to know something about the reputations of the people you are dealing with.

I had to look up concupiscent, but ditto here. "Old, but _____________"
It doesn't bother me that some ladies feel comfortable bartering. I feel it should be up to the lady to make that suggestion, and if he's interested, what happens is between the two of them.

I am highly offended by photographers who approach me hoping I'll barter.

I'm more then happy to pay a professional for their work, and will only deal with photographers that treat their work like a business, not a way to get laid cheap. If a photographer initiates the bartering conversation, he's guaranteed to be turned down and loose the possibility of having me as a paying client.

It reminds me of porn directors who tell new girls they want to audition them in private before putting them on set

Lauren, I understand your position and no, typically I don't offer a trade. It is almost always the provider who asks if I will trade for services and that is usually because she can't afford to lay out the cash. You are obviously very successful at what you do and have handled your finances prudently. Not all providers are as well positioned as you.
