Checked Your Bank Account Lately or Credit Card

The media has been fuzzy with how this occurred.

Question: this is for ALL credit cards used at Target OR is is just the TARGET CARD?

The way they've been wording it when I listen makes it confusing.

The hackers went after the Point-of-Sale (POS) system by using malware. You understand POS registers are computers.

Here is more detail in this story:

At the POS level, that is what got me curious.
How the hell do you install the malware in ALL the POS terminals?
To me, I would think it would be easier to get it off some data trunk that delivered the data to the servers that did the actual banking transactions.

Since it took a credit card/debit card with a magnetic strip, I understood it took a computer. Been years since I ran across a place that manually runs a card and has to call in the figures.

Was just notified that my info was among the compromised data. I only go to Target maybe 3-4 times a year, just my luck. Having to get new card and reset all the payment data as well. Isn't technology wonderful? Cash is still king? but swiping that debit card is sure handy.
Me too Maxx. I'm still waiting on my new card.
