Some good news?

Bush 2 technically didn't defer... he joined the Air National Guard-- which essentially kept him the hell out of Vietnam.

the controversy there was whether or not Bush I pulled strings to get him in the Air National Guard.

i don't think so. i think .. like many of my older cousins .. who joined the Army National Guard, the US Navy and the Air Force .. Bushy II knew he'd be drafted and joined the Air National Guard first.

my cousin Harold was in the Air Force in Cambodia. yes i said CAMBODIA .. they called the base "The Base With No Name" .. like the Clint westerns. yep. he was stationed there during this ..

Operation Menu
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Menu

Operation Menu was a covert United States Strategic Air Command (SAC) tactical bombing campaign conducted in eastern Cambodia from 18 March 1969 until 26 May 1970 as part of both the Vietnam War and the Cambodian Civil War. The targets of these attacks were sanctuaries and Base Areas of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN — commonly referred to during the Vietnam War as the North Vietnamese Army [NVA]) and forces of the Viet Cong (VC), which utilized them for resupply, training, and resting between campaigns across the border in the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). The impact of the bombing campaign on the Khmer Rouge guerrillas, the PAVN, and Cambodian civilians in the bombed areas is disputed by historians.

Clinton deferred twice... once due to being a Rhodes Scholar studying at Oxford.. then the second one when he verbally committed to ROTC-- then 2 months later "changed his mind" Then, when he finally lost his ability to avoid draft status... he lucked into a high lottery number and was never called.

Honestly-- I don't give a damn about Trump getting draft deferments. Its not like he's the first kid with money to dodge service on some borderline bullshit. Originally Posted by Grace Preston

You're the one spreading misinformation. What country is in the Winter Flu Season? Originally Posted by Levianon17

How about you admit that you were wrong on the first point and then they might address the second point.

You mean like the misinformation you tried to spread with point 1? Originally Posted by HedonistForever

Now lets hear the answer to the second point. Because the first point is irrelevant if there are negligible flu cases to mislabel, isn't it?

Did you read the article at all? The opening sentence says:

"For the past two months, as winter descended on Chile, infectious-disease specialist Claudia Cortés worked tirelessly..."

Good, I didn't think you had it in you to admit you were wrong. That shows me something.

You are yet another failing of the US educational system. It is a waste of time responding to the posts of people who don't just know, but actively refuse to learn.

The 2nd point was about fraud tied to seasonal flu cases being falsely reported as Covid cases in the US. We aren't in seasonal flu season, so there are negligible flu cases to falsely report.

Significant misreporting of flu cases in the US won't begin - if at all - until October.
