What's your favorite restaurant in Houston and why?

Brenners (The original on i10) has THE best steak I have ever tasted in my life, and I have been to tons of 5 star places for steak. The bone-in ribeye is to die for, and I love the german potatoes to mop up the steak juices with.

TBH that is the only place in Houston that stands out as a MUST try...

Vic and Anthony's gets my vote for steaks.
You can't go wrong with Eddie V's or Truluck's if you want to add seafood.
Killen's BBQ out in Pearland is awesome!
Fung's Kitchen off of 59 S is my sleeper pick. Those fools have like 30 different ways to prepare lobster!

For a less obvious option for steak I recommend La Casa Del Caballo at Westheimer and Taft http://www.lacasadelcaballo.com/site/ .
It's a Mexican Steakhouse that has excellent dishes in a range of prices. They serve both steak and seafood, so you can get both or either.
The tapa del lomo is supposed to be amazing, but I haven't tried it yet (it serves 4-6).

For a truly amazing culinary experience I strongly recommend The Pass
http://passandprovisions.com/. It is world class dining right here in Houston.
It is expensive ($90 for the eight course fixed price dinner menu) and can become much more expensive depending on what and how much you drink. Yet at this price it is a bargain--you would pay much more at comparable restaurants in other cities. Bring someone who knows how to have a conversation--you'll be there for 2-3 hours.

For every day value dining I strongly recommend Taco Laredo. Cheap ($2 a taco) fast and delicious with locations all over Houston. Five buck goes a long way.
