Anyone hear of the Blue Bird Restaurant in Clairton ??? not sure if it still open? Years since I was there since I moved away from that area. Great steak & eggs breakfast after the bars closed. Also we all remember the Original O in Oakland!!!! Originally Posted by DOC22

I would pick Primanti's, when they were just one location.

After that the Primanti's I knew was gone for good.

Some things just can't be franchised, like, the alley to piss in, the "Rape tunnel" to the ladies room, the pure disdain the staff had for ANYONE and the company you had during those times, a bit like the wild west.

Blaine Hill is rebranded as Droopys. Great food and atmosphere, lots of picnic tables and whatnot outside. You’ll see everything from peewee soccer teams to biker gangs eating there. They’re a bit past the Boston Bridge if heading towards 51. Loved the Winchester Room too, until it burned to the ground. It’s a shame they never reopened.

What was the name of the Monroeville place that was two train cars put together as a restaurant? Had some nice meals there way back

That was Victoria Station.
I second that. We used to leave at 2 AM to go hunting and would stop there. You ordered two eggs and you had enough food for a family. Am I correct. They sell pipes and things like that now. They had good chili also. Originally Posted by Cody69

Bambino and the other lads might know.

Blaine Hill bbq and "Batman" sauce And Droopy.
We had a big thread back on the other site about this.

Fellow named Joe Grey would be stirrin' his kettle
o' sauce just so... and drippin' ashes from his cigar
into it...

And IF ya think I'm exaggerating - just ask the other lads!

****

... I was also asked to ask about a drive bar named
"Mullenar's" - on road-route 51 near the hockey arena.

And also asked IF I ever ate anything at "Boomy's"

Here’s an oldie, Bubbles and Sherman’s deli on 5th avenue. My dad would bring me there for corned beef sandwiches in the 60’s. It was always packed. Best Corned beef Sammie I ever had in Pittsburgh.
Fat Zackle's in Clairidge, best fish sandwich, hands down.

Neads in Lawrenceville had damn good fish sandwiches. It closed last year.

Doritos is still open and still good.
