Actually 522 thousand years ago. I think it's weird that when you look at stars some of them don't actually exist anymore. You're looking at something that isn't there.

The real mind fucker is that before the big bang, all the matter in the universe was in a singularity that was no bigger than a sub-atomic particle. It was infinitely dense, infinitely hot and infinitely small, sort of like Assup's brain, except for the hot part.

And to see it as it is today you'd have to travel in it's direction at the speed of light for 106 million years, stop and observe the light coming from the galaxy which had also been traveling for 106 mil. years.
