Back on Long Island's north shore we called steamers Piss Clams because whenever you would get close to them they would feel the vibration of your feet and squirt before going down into the sand. Ummm....kind of reminds me of some providers.....but I'm not mentioning any names......LOL

I have been here for over 10 years and have yet to find any in Texas. With today's shipping methods - try this link to order the steamers. It's easy to prepare them.

Maxie's trick of using bread crumbs works perfect - I remember my grandmother doing this for regular clams.

Reading all the posts has made me hungry for a good old Lobster Bake with clams, steamers and corn-on-the-cob..........

Anyone up for a trip to LI or Boston for 3 or 4 days of seafood partying......... I'll buy!

The BP spill has cut off some seafood from Gulf coast.

One of my fondest memories was having a bucket of clams on the boardwalk in Seattle.

Actually I'm due a trip up to Seattle, I will have clams there for sure!
