I agree with you that there has been bad and good presidents on both sides. Being a republican or democrat doesn't automatically make you bad or good. Romney wasn't my first choice for nominee because of his history of being very moderate. I will say though that i disagree with you about Obama...He ran on a quasi-conservative platform (as most liberals do). He said he would cut government spending and gain control of the deficit. Three and a half years later he has done nothing that the right likes and I know a lot of independents that feel weary about the size of government and its continued growth.
He isn't just polarizing to the right. He is the most liberal president in history and that actually comes from the mouth of liberals so how much more polarizing could you get?
"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what can you do for your country." JFK
If Obama gave a honest speech his quote would look more like: "My fellow citizens, ask for everything from the government, and don't worry about not contributing there's plenty of hard working Americans that we can penalize for their individual sucess"
At one point you have to say do i want socialism? ....and regardless of the answer that will tell you who to vote for. Because one side is progressing to socialism and the other is bucking away from it.
