Outside of all this back and forth here:

My online activity is limited to a photography forum, a gun collector's forum and ECCIE (mostly this political forum lately). On the gun collecting forum, the opinion is nearly universal that anyone having had a firearm handed to them MUST immediately determine it's condition as to loaded or unloaded.

The liberal-left has tried to change the meaning of the phrase "gun safety" to mean "gun contgrol" in the past few years. GUN SAFETY to the gun-using community has always meant rules and practices to ensure the safe handling of firearms. The avoidance of an unintentional discharge has always been the goal of gun safety.

Ome of the primary safe practices of gun safety is to immediately examine any firearm given into your hands to see that it is unloaded.

In the gun using community, Mr. Baldwin is universally considered to be culpable in the death of his cinematographer. Most sgree that it was an accident and so charges of manslaughter or negligent homicide seem more appropriate; whatever znew Mexico law provides for.
