Ok I have been trying to stay out of this and just let Ava Feel good about herself and her choices. But now I am being insulted.

I truly stay in the background here on ECCIE because there are certainly some very oppinionated folks here and I have no desire to stir the pot so to speak.... but I feel the need to defend myslf now.


First and foremost I have never ripped anyone off. I offer to build sites for folks who can't or don't wish to learn how to build it themselves. Many don't have the apptitude or don't wish to use there time learning that. They know from the get go I am building it in Wix. I do not decieve anyone.


Second I use wix because it's a great platform for flash sites, it's reasonable for hosting and It enables me, after building and locking everything into place on the site, the ability to offer the choice for the site holder to maintain the site themselves if they wish or I can maintain. Unlike webmasters who hold the site you paid for at $75 or more a page hostage You have to pay them to change your rates, ad photos or make any other change no matter how simple the change. Wix is simple enough once built yes most anyone can make simple changes.


Third They do get Domaine names if they wish. Ava's domain name is www.avalove.info

And Finally... Every site I build is built from scratch. It is not just a template with the words replaced and different photos. Backgrounds and flash elements are researched and customized. I research to find just what the person is looking for when wanting to build them their site. I want a site as individual as they are.
I spend on average any where from 30 to 40 hours start to finish including the interview process to build these sites. Now It seems to me you lady's time is worth upwards of $200 & $300 an hour... so I think my $300 - $400 for spending 30 or 40 hours doing something for someone that I truly take seriously and make every effort to fulfill their expectations is quiet fair.

Also anyone I have ever approached to do this for has the right to decline but they have always felt they got what they wanted and were fairly compensated for the money they spent.

BUT...Mostly Ava just wanted to get something for herself that she could not do for herself and feel good about it. I don't think we need to poo poo on her parade and make her feel stupid by saying she got ripped off. She is excited about her new lease on life...Lets be excite for her too!

Now I don't say that what I do is for everyone...Many of you want to build your own site and that's great... I am just here to help those who want what I offer.... Just like yall.

There's nothing special or unique about them for one to pay such amount of money unless her customers were feeling extra generous.

I've been working with this industry a long time, and I know how long it takes to build a client list. Only to hire someone for screening services, then that person takes off with the list and starts contacting the clients, for themselves or their girlfriends. Not accusing anyone here! Just saying it's something to think about, and please do some research before turning over your whole business to someone you don't know.

( here's a little info...no matter who builds your site it has to be hosted and all hosting companies can track who is using their site. But HEAR this they are not tracking your clients. Over the last 5 years that I have been a provider I am constantly being told that this business is cut throat and skeezy but I always tried to see the better side of it. I have met some amazing providers.

I have always been ( or at least I thought I had been) a respected provider
( respected by other providers as well as clients). One with character and integrity and I certainly try to apply the same principles when offering my help to other providers. I am starting to feel like respect and provider may be some kind of oxymoron here. All I have ever wanted to do as a provider and a service provider to other providers was help to raise the level of integrity in this business. I am so sorry that Ava touted my services here and offended some. If I could/can get it taken down I would/will. That way yall don't have to feel the need to protect anyone from me.

But I think you missed the point that says THE $50 per month is optional and the part where I will teach them how to maintain themselves if they wish. Yes hosting is extra but it's half the cost the first year of what Wix actually charges and it isn't burried anywhere it's right there at the bottom of the list of all you get.

But I am so glad you cleared everything up for folks. As for my site being a template on the front page of wix...yes I saw a template I liked but it my friggin site and I didn't charge anybody else for my site...so no harm no foul.
Honestly all sites look alike in some way or another even your sites resemble others or could easily be copied....There are many many configuration of sites but they all have backgrounds, navigation button, photos,,,,,etc etc but I glad you cleared everything thing up for everyone.

Convenience or not! For $400, I rather pay a PROFESSIONAL like GGM or other reputable web designers to build a GREAT site not some cookie cutter bs.
