Ruger LC in .45

I've decided I'm going to track one down. Need to see if binary trigger will fit in it. Originally Posted by bigwill832

However, due to recent court victories the forced reset triggers are not prohibited. If you can consider an AR pattern weapon, those are now available again. From my experience you can achieve as high fire rate (and it's easier) as a binary, at a fraction of the cost.

These guys have a new, much lower priced trigger group that should fit your needs.

I am currently working with a local dealer to stock these. That way no one has to order one from the manufacturer and face the chance of the BATFE showing up at your door demanding it back and threatening prison time, as recently happened with the other guys. My guy does not keep a record of who buys his products with cash. 100% legal transaction for a 100% legal to own product in Texas (unlike what some other member posts and brags about).

Did you consider the 10mm version of this carbine?

Anybody, anything? Looks like a lot of fun in .45 vs 9mm. Picture shown with Glock extended 26 round magazine.

I bought the weapon from familyfirearms for $740 drive out plus $40 FFL, while Carters Country has one for $850 plus tax, etc. Marksman Range doesn't have any, like Bass Pro, Academy doesn't have one, and lastly Texas Gun Club has one for $861 plus the normal fees. No FFL fee at either TGC or CC. So I'm very happy with the pricing at https://www.familyfirearms.com/produ...ld-adj-blk-13r Originally Posted by DEAR_JOHN

Yes you did. A little research pays off

Great urban/suburban home self defense gun. With proper self defensive loads you don't have to worry about over penetration (so no blasting the neighbors next door if you have to use it, unlike a rifle round), easy to find ammo, all the range necessary, easy to find magazines, solid brand name with good warranty. Sound like you have an ideal set up that many of us should consider.

Now that you have chosen a rig that fires subsonic rounds and has a threaded barrel you might also want to level up and get a suppressor (either a legal home-built or a factory model). That thing would be real quiet.

Common misconception:

Common handgun cartridges will not "overpenetrate" (i.e., perforate) as much as rifle calibers.

9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and certainly .357 Magnum and up will perforate much more "stuff" than a XM193 55 grain FMJ going a minimum of 2,400 FPS.

The "lifers" in prisons across the US have mostly been shot lots with handgun calibers of every configuration. Trauma surgeons I have met professionally have told me that the survival rate of handgun inflicted wounds is 90+% WITH PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION. 5.56mm, not so much. 12 gauge, properly applied, single digits.

I'm old school. I like a Remington 870 with an extended magazine tube and # 4 Mil-Spec Buckshot.

Just my $0.02, worth everything you paid for it.

I use this already set up for Remington UHC .45 in 230 grain. It shows 34 cents a round, which is a lot cheaper than Bass Pro Shops or Academy, HOWEVER the shipping charge is around $55 which brings the price up quickly. Even though it's more expensive than it would seem with shipping, it's still a bit cheaper than BPS and Academy. Since I'm getting a very popular round from Remington, I still pay the shipping. Now if were some ammo I'm not familiar with, I would buy it on site.

Not near as reputable as a Remington/Mossberg, however for a into-your-closet total price of just over a hundred bucks (Gun + transfer to local FFL) this might not be a bad deal for a person on a tight budget.

I also like #4 over OO buckshot. Used to have that loaded exclusively in the HD shotgun. Now I pretty much load PDX Defender into it. (The old buck and ball loads from the Civil War ear re-engineered into the 21st century.)
