Didn't Bush II drop a MOAB on Afghanistan during his time in office? I remember that same thing, cargo deployed but it was more round in shape. Didn't weigh as much but still 10k+ pounds and air blast type?

Those were Bunker busters- the MOAB was around and could have been deployed, but they used a much smaller version of the MOAB called a Bunker Buster. Bunker Busters are designed to destroy obviously Bunkers and Caves- they leave huge holes in the ground.

The question no one has asked- was if this bomb was needed? How many ISIS fighters do you really think are in Afghanistan? Surely, not the same number as in Iraq or Syria. I wouldn't be surprised if no more than 100 ISIS fighters were killed-if that- simply overkill just like the 59 Tomahawk missiles that were launched and the Syrian Airbase was operational in 48 hours.
