If a client sends me a text or email it may or may not still be in the same exact place they sent it - to my phone number or email address. I am just asking valid questions, not knocking how you present yourself to the clientele you are looking for. I also save numbers of the dick beaters that has wasted my time or not yet provided reference and make note of the LPS hobbyist.

I see such a small client base and always have, I have no problem on recalling any client that I have seen if it was last month or 3 years ago when I learned about lucrative speed dating.

In my screening process, sometimes I do not feel that it is necessary to check reference with other providers.
