A Cautionary Tale - who I'm leaving the hobby

To those who wish to PM me: As mentioned above, eighty percent of the adult population has Herpes 1. Twenty five percent has Herpes 2. There are over 600 ladies on the board. Odds are you cannot avoid these viruses my avoiding three ladies. Hobby at your own risk.

This comment makes you an "unreliable narrator," thus calling into question the rest of your posts.

I am going to guess that the one provider you were searching for and who also suddenly disappeared is someone you saw .

I am in complete agreement with Grace...everything she stated is correct. Most people do not request HSV 2 testing unless they have some reason to be concerned, or are experiencing an outbreak. I only started getting tested for it when i began the hobby.
Either your wife was already suspecting something, or she had other reasons to be concerned....I can't see why someone in a marriage who assumes her husband is being faithful would randomly have an HSV test ran, as it is NOT part of standard wellness testing/pap smears/annual checkups. Like Grace said it is fairly costly on top of everything else. Either way good luck to you and please do notify the providers you have been in contact with so they can immediately get tested.

So the takeaway here is wear a condom, saran wrap your balls, and scotchgard yourself from the ankles to the neck. And don't kiss anybody for fucks sake.

You forgot the chasity belt for the SO.
If I actually believed the facts put forth, then I'll offer what is the most likely scenario...

Your wife had dormant HSV that she didn't know she had. That's the most likely scenario if your statements are true.

However, it is actually odd you did not test positive for HSV1 at first, then did even though you don't mention any symptoms in the meantime. The large majority of adults contracted HSV as a child or young adult...when they contract it as an adult, it is rare to do so absent symptoms.

It is very odd for anyone to get a HSV test, especially in the absence of symptoms.

Many people have HSv1/2 and don't know. It's not possible to say you infected your wife.

I think, if you're being honest, you wife is bullshitting you. She either had it or she doesn't at all, was suspicious of your sketchy behavior, and played you...

It would make sense to me that if infection rates really are that high (80 and 25), other means of transmission must be possible.

Go with that, and blame it on the toilet seat.
Thanks for the correct information Nurse RE: HSV 1 and 2 . The takeaway here folks is very simple, ( and I realize I'm stating the obvious) if you have a SO, unless you are in a totally sexless marriage, don't hobby, it's just that simple. 80 percent of the population is HSV 1 Pos, however if you go into the hobby population it's prob closer to 100. 25 percent of the general population is HSV 2 Pos, in the hobby world I'd be scared to venture a guess. You also don't have to be symptomatic to spread either . There is also no doubt in my mind that very few providers or hobbiests have retired after being dx w/ either. I'm sure there is the mentality of someone gave it to me, I'll manage it the best I can but shit happens. We haven't even brought up HPV...... Married guys, stay home

What the fuck, so by your statement everyone on this board and actively fucking has herpes?

Assuming you're on the up and up.... and not just another risk troll.

The advice here, while I am sure is well intentioned, is misdirected. It should not be 'Don't frequent providers.....' it should be.... don't cheat on your wife.

Welcome to the land of consequences.... wish you all the best.
On a happy note:

1) it is more difficult (but not impossible) to contract hsv2 if you already are infected with hsv1. Because the viruses are nearly identical, you have antibodies that help prevent a second infection

2) even with hsv2, many people carry the virus for decades and never know it. Most will never have soars.

3) unless you and your wife were both virgins who had never kissed anyone when you met, a positive test cannot be linked to the hobby unless you are a dumb ass and confess
The latest information shows a 58% infection rate for hsv-1. So to say oh well 80% of the population has it so screw it is misleading at best.

But thanks for the post and the reminder of the risks we take for an hour of fantasy....
