in order to save your melons, you have to create an incubater...get a clear plastic box where light can come through and place over your melons...also I would suggest you get a spray bottle and fill with carbonated water and spray on whatever remaining leaves there is...this will help absorbe co2, while the plant is in trauma...yes , plants do go through traumna and stop growing because all energy is spent trying to recover from the greenery that was torn out...im a farmer!
