I haven't read the books yet, but thats only because I'm lazy and spend alot of my days playing video games and doing my other hobbies during my free-time.

But the mythology and backstory definitely have me intrigued and possibly interested in one day reading the books.

Its the same way with other franchises as well like the Elder Scrolls or the Hobbit/LOTR series.

Alot of times while bullshitting at work I find myself looking up the backstory of all of those series on wiki pages dedicated to Game of Thrones, Elder Scrolls, Hobbit, etc. All of them have tons of back stories and tales that could literally go on forever.

I've read all the books. They are as captivating as the series. You will get no spoilers from me.

I didn't catch GoT until season 3 was underway. However, I had a friend who lent me seasons 1 & 2 on DVD. I watched those then jumped into season 3.

After the season finale, I picked up the first 4 books and was 2/3rd of the way through book 3 before season 4 started. In fact, I had just finished reading the Red Wedding.

As good as the series is, the books are better.

Don't have HBO, so I end up tormenting it overnight. However, I've purchased the seasons on Blu-ray because it's fucking worth it!

just downloaded tonights episode....am watching nao.
