Knob Creek. I never thought I'd give up Wild Turkey!

It's from Kentucky, but I find it damned good over ice. Originally Posted by nickjaguar

So inquiring minds want to know which whisky is your fav. and why, other than JD & Dickel. I’ll hold mine till later. Originally Posted by Unique_Carpenter

Now, if we are talking other spirits, like Vodka, I have to say Tito's Handmade Vodka that Dallas Rain turned me on to is top notch. But for bourbon.. JD hands down.

Every time I hear someone order a "Jack and Coke", I cringe, and think to myself, "Another perfectly good soda, ruined."

Templeton Rye, on the other hand, is some fine stuff.

In the '80's I drank a lot of Wild Turkey and WL Weller. Don't hear about Weller anymore, don't drink Whiskey anymore either.

Try Fort Worth's own TX brand

I was surprised at how gall darn good it is.
Would be a little light and sweet for some drinkers.

But it is smooth smooth and I swear they must use a little
caramel or something in there.

It has won several awards also.
They say you can visit the factory in Ft Worth,
they may do tours or something.

My current favorite is a single malt by Ranger Creek called Rimfire. It's mesquite smoked and delicious. Think smoky caramel with a nice bite.
For Scotch....value for the money I'd have to say Oban 14 year. Originally Posted by SAangel27

Cause that's a key part of remembering the fun from every trip. There's only one gal, in Houston, that knows what the other bottle of Rye is.
