I'm just curious...

If you want to be 100% really honest, there are alot of photos here on ECCIE that providers use that aren't very accurate that are also posted on BP. So for me pictures are not the question because until I see all of you, without any clothes on, pics are meaningless anyways. I see at least 50% of the providers on here in the provider search also on BP, the only help is wether there are reviews or not. That makes the difference to me, JMHO.

See thread below-someone on BP is using my pictures.

+1. Sites like this and P411 help to filter out some of the inherent risk in the hobby, from both sides of the client/provider viewpoint. Originally Posted by zeejoe

BP requires little or no investment.

It's like the old saying about cars, sure a thief can get to any car, but given all things being equal, or close to equal, the locked car is more of a deterrent, just because the one next to it might be easier (unlocked). I note all of the inherent problems with analogies.

Of course, ECCIE has a social media aspect to it, so much so some providers are more dependent on it than they perhaps should be, diversity in marketing is always good. You can refer to your ECCIE reviews (or any other site) in your BP ad, which will provide another layer of protection and information for folks, just like a website (another layer of investment) or any other reference you have. That might make your ad better.

However, the ease of client and provider access... makes BP, as so many others have indicated.. a minefield. Of course... ECCIE is a minefield in its own little way, but I'm probably not going to get robbed... probably

To the OP: Why do you think folks don't like to use BP?

For those who knew EF, Brook would resort to BP ads in times when business was slow, especially if touring. Granted, a lot has changed since those days.

The overall deal with backpage is that it is sketchy all the way around, client, provider. So, as a provider, by advertising there you up the stakes and must be on guard as LE will try to contact you. They watch it like Independence Ave. when your ad goes up, you are a target. As a client, same story. There are some great providers who advertise on BP and I'm sure great clients who use it.

Personally, I don't want to deal with rift raft and up my stakes of crossing any kind of trouble. That creates too many risks for me and my clients. I would rather have less business and pay more for investing in advertising on more credible sites. I like to be balanced and not stressed over sifting through the mess a BP ad brings.
