I got a bad vibe and bailed on a BP girl today...

I'm loving all of this positive reinforcement! There's a lot of love on this ECCIE post!

Seriously, thanks for the reality check. It's the first time I just bailed like that, so I was really curious to see what everyone thought. I greatly appreciate the feedback.
Listening to your gut is never a bad thing in this hobby.

I would've bailed with the BP girl when she asked what color is my car, let alone park in the back. You live to tell about the story thats what matters. We ALL commend you on using your instincts in this situation.
Those guys were NOT LE. You will never see LE until they want to be seen. If you ever see marked LE in the parking lot, they are NOT there for you or probably anything hobby related.

You did the right thing in following your instincts. Things may not have gone badly, but with everything that was odd about the whole situation, you did the right thing.
Wow, this was really sketchy.
She had to take a taxi, form Wichita isn't that the area code on her phone.

Park in the back, if LE, makes it easy to tow the car,
If bad guys, makes it easy to beat the crap out of you and take your car.
Hard to explain to the police why you got jumped, and you weren't a guest at the hotel.
And how you got in the back door of the hotel.
You get those little hairs standing up on the back of your neck, bail and fast. Originally Posted by Helicopter206

Always best to play it safe, if you are not confortable leave. Shouldn't make a difference where you park once she has a room and can text you the number. Originally Posted by oldman49

Better to be left hanging that be an even worse story.

Play safe!

So, against my better judgment, I contacted "Mandy" (316-453-9152) on BP:

You did the right thing , one should walk into an affair with confidence.

Try an ISO...plenty of reviewed ladies here able to help!
I am going to attempt to play devils advocate. Understand I do not condone any action she made, Nor would I treat a potential date in that regard. Under no circumstances would I have other men lingering with me prior to a date. I would never demand or command a gentleman to do anything (unless of course he requested this in advance) and I ALWAYS have my room at least booked 24 hours in advance. I attempt to check in anywhere from 1-4 hours in advance to avoid any stuttering moments or awkward lengths of time waiting in the car for my gentleman caller.

So devils advocate, The only reason I might wish to see the car would be if I felt uncomfortable in regards to my intended's occupation. I have requested politely in the past gentlemen park in a certain area. The idea is to see them pull up in a normal vehicle. Though not full proof in regards to adding to safety it can ease a bit of tension that might pre-exist.

The two men could be either random flirters, security (I have heard some ladies hire security) inquiring hotel staff, believe it or not they could be relations. (I would personally be weary but again I am attempting to find alternate reasons aside from friends meant to rob you or LE. Another thought opposing the defense is how she would be able to afford security and not a car of her own? So again I would be hesitant to believe it was security)

Not having the room in advance could be her desire to avoid spending money in advance without the possibility of reimbursement showing up. (alternately if she is indeed a provider, most will not be too upset because they can simply replace the client with the next or another. so I am Leary to accept this reasoning)

Lastly the "command" rather than request. Many ladies are used to being treated with a dismissive attitude. Their preferences and safety concerns are often dismissed by the casual client. (not saying this is you but on average) She may have been attempting to assert authority to avoid having her concerns dismissed (poorly I might add)
Just happened to see this thread. Glad I did, kinda opened my eyes. Had an occasion a little while back where I got a similar vibe, but brushed it off as just me being nervous (I'm always a touch nervous when I make an appointment). Turned out ok although the visit was just so-so. But yeah, still should have listened. Can't be too safe.
Thanks to the OP and everyone who replied for posting.
don't bump 4 month old threads pls

And on that note..... I wonder if I can find an older thread that interests me enough to comment on. Hhmmm.... Nah, I have more interesting things to do.
Sure thing newb, guidelines aside, I look forward to your posts.
I apologize. Forgive me for being a "newb". I was not aware that having 470 posts and 24 reviews on this board was such a prestigious achievement. Well done, sir.
