The only thing I can not see me doing. Is driving a car that would leave me with a fear of driving where I want, when I want. I really miss having a real Jeep Cherokee. Before they took the "U" out of SUV. And made it a yuppie box that wished it could. Rather than the little car that can.

But a good incall would have
easy to get to and find
parking that all that would find easy
all would feel safe, for car, and self
land lord and neighbors
warm when its cold
cool when its hot
LE with better things to do than worry about BCD

But the drive to the Adirondacks! would be a killer. No less the fact that its 50 miles to go anywhere. And shopping is not cheap.

So a good spot in/near a city is not a easy find. But can be found with lots of looking.

I don't know if it's the street lights or heavy policing, but downtown Syracuse is the safest part of the city, no joke; with a lower per-capita crime rate than the nicest residential neighborhood. Parking is plentiful at night although in the daytime it can be hard to find a spot.

If you're driving a motorized tool shed, all bets are off: it's going to be hard to park on the street.
