I agree you could be a average income blue collar union slave with all the manners in the world or a wealthy financial guy with no manners or regard for people whatsoever.

Since never.

If it did, wouldn't all persons who provide for money be low class by definition?

Trisha, you bring up an interesting topic...

In general, most of limited number of PT providers that I've encountered hinted at PT use. if they hadn't I would had not had any way of knowing based on our interactions alone. I'm sure there are quite a few hobbyist and providers alike that PT and keep that info to themselves, so the best you can do is cover up and go safe.

If I encounter a pro on PT, I encourage them to get some help and try not to be to judgmental cause you haven't walked a day in their shoes. One pro I met has taken steps in that direction and time will tell how everything goes. I must say that I agree with you in that we have to be cognizant of whether a given action results in an increased risk of harm and weigh that in our decisions.

Maybe when they start dropping dead, I'll care more. Right now they all seem to survive, one way or another. Some go to rehab, some to prison, others just keep on keeping on. In Ontario they get on disability and get a grand a month for being a junkie. Hey, it pays the rent and the hooking or stripping covers the rest. I haven't seen any HIV/AIDS, but plenty of Hep C. But that's real hard to transmit just by fucking and sucking, at least that's what they tell me every time I make them test me for it at the clinic.

Good topic....I use to be a lot more concerned with other's problems, but as Vicki said you have to take care of you and your own first and not lose yourself in others problems.
I grew up with an addict/alcoholic mom....for a long time I hated her. I refused to hear or believe that it was a legit disease...I felt it was her choice and I just wanted to and probably needed to be angry at her for it. She has never gotten help and honestly, I don't think she ever will. For a long time, I let her problems eat away at me. I was always angry, confrontational with her, confrontational with others taking my frustrations with her out on them...and honestly I can't tell you what it was that clicked in my head but eventually it did and I realized it is a disease, there is a cure, but I can't force her into it she has to choose it herself. The day I stopped obsessing over her problems, I was able to start focusing on my own and I'm much happier now having pretty much cut her out of my life. I'm here for her, if she chooses to get help and asks me to support her I would. But I won't hold my breath.
And as someone else said, you also don't know why that person has this problem. Not that it makes it ok, but everyone copes differently, and sometimes traumatic things happen to people and they turn to drugs or alcohol to numb the pain...never meaning to let it get out of control or turn into an addiction but it does.

I try to not be judgmental and I hope I am not coming off to strongly as being so.. I do feel for those with serious addiction issues but on the other hand I don't agree with someone who knowingly puts themselves in a situation where pt is evident.. I do know that my "profession" puts me at risk, but knowingly participating in encounters with those who condone pt use puts me at a substantially higher risk then participating with those that don't.. this has all really given me a very rude awakening..

Thankyou xoxox....I do know that addiction is a real problem that is hard to deal with, like I said I feel for these girls. I just can't imagine living life like that or enabling that..I guess I'm just having a hard time dealing with it / worrying about it.... my rose colored glasses are beginning to fade lol
