ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS ABOUT OBAMA'S THREATENED IMMIGRATION REFORM EO?

If we follow President Obama's lead, then about 15 years from now we will be facing another wave of illegals. The only thing that will be different is the date on the calender.

Spot on. This shouldn't even be a debate. Why are we rewarding criminals? It's like going in to rob a bank, and having the bank president say "Sure! Come on in! Help yourself! And be sure to tell your friends about our 'frequent robber' program!"

Too bizarre.

Why do you assume I am a Dem? Last time I looked, which is when I voted, my voter registration card said Republican.

However, the class of immigrants expected to be covered by the Obama's EO is basically the same class that Reagan and Bush covered in theirs. Originally Posted by chefnerd

The big difference with Bush is that Congress had also clearly indicated they were going to tackle the issue. Originally Posted by chefnerd

Maybe you missed the obvious again. Reagan did it with congressional support. That is something that Obama is not doing. Congress also promised to close the border but lied about that. Typical democrats.

Congress will not tackle the issue....Obama is making them do so.

Folks may not like how he is doing so but Congress was elected to tackle tough issues , not just be a party of NO.

The future will tell if it was good politics or not.

Exactly! QUOTE]

Obviously you are far more concerned with numbers than substance. The number of people involved is irrelevant. What is relevant is the action by a President of the United States.

But then again, you are far more interested in bringing stupidity to this board than factual information.

BTW -- what is that number now that started at 601?

“[T]here’s no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our Southern border—a sense that what’s happening now is fundamentally different from what has gone on before...

The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century .... If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole—especially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japan—it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.
