I dunno what happened here, but he's not law. He's been a regular of mine for years. I can see him getting cold feet and maybe not handling the situation as best he could. But he's legit and a nice guy if u get to know him.

If that is what happened, then he was very unprofessional and rude. But I would be more concerned that you provide with young ones in the house at the same time. Not only unprofessional but also dangerous and disrespectful to those young ones. Not a good start for you. Not to mention the "friends" you keep.
