§82. Prostitution; definition; penalties; enhancement.
A. Prostitution is:
(1) The practice by a person of indiscriminate sexual intercourse with others for compensation.
(2) The solicitation by one person of another with the intent to engage in indiscriminate sexual intercourse with the latter for compensation.
B. As used in this Section, "sexual intercourse" means anal, oral, or vaginal sexual intercourse.

There are some other sub-sections following this excerpt, which deal with the penalties, which are enhanced for subsequent convictions.

Thereafter follow several entire other sections covering inciting; soliciting; prostitution of persons under 17 by persons over 17; prostitution by massage; massage with sexual contact prohibited (?); pandering; letting premises for the purpose of; and inciting (again).

Yep, the LA Criminal Code has our hobby pretty well covered.

But, the notion that "escorting" and "prostitution" are two different things? Or that the price asked somehow matters?
