I make it a habit if I see what appears to be a single parent (usually a Mom) with a small child having dinner, especially at Christmas.....I almost always pay their bill if the wait staff is cooperative in keeping it a secret. Have also done this for uniformed first responders and military at times.

I saw my favorite checker from Kroger at subway around the corner on her lunch break. I bought her lunch and then gave her a 12 inch down the throat. Paid off big time.

I have volunteered at several places, I've done the toll thing several times, I've gotten a bunch of ones and gone to bus stops and paid everyone's bus fair, I paid an old lady's cell phone bill, helped push broken down cars off a street, donated, fostered animals...lol
